No way, any game with Mexico is good for both teams, the ConcaCaf is so crap that both Mexico and the USA need to play each other to stay sharp.

I totally agree. There's no point to it.

because there are not other teams that play in the entire world???

honestly both should/could be playing other non-regional powers if they want improvement. it's actually very difficult to gauge improvement against a rival because of the emotion involved. ie, you play better than your actual level due to emotion.

i stand by what i said, this is useless and serves no purpose other than bragging rights. which are cheapened anyway since the game really doesn't count.

USA will go into Mexico, the 51st state, playing their Brazilian brand of ball and win 15-0.

If I was coach, USA would obviously win 45-0, and I score 10 goals.

Lots of PRO players are getting their rest for Mexico, notable people are also left out of the United Statesian team.

We will keep our streak going. :p
I don't care what you say, DaDarkOne, you can't coach at the kid NOR the pro level and you're fat and are a PWSOF (players who suck only fan).

*I gotta hand it to you, Señor Kam... that post RULES .

Can't name ALL of them, but I know Los Estados Unidos will be missing Bradley, Dempsey, Altidore, Goodson, Bocanegra, Lichaj and a few others.

Olympic players like Peralta, Corona, Dos Santos, Salcido, etc., will be getting their due rest for El Tri.

It's somewhat leveled out with MANY U.S. players already playing for Mexican club teams and somewhat familiar with the atmosphere that is Azteca.

Hoping the young guys step up and we (the US) keep it interesting...

Actually, I'm just hoping Cameron doesn't miss an assignment and have Howard chew him out.

    Go U.S.A.!!

    Full Roster
Goalkeepers: Tim Howard (Everton), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

Defenders: Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Steven Beithasour (San Jose Earthquakes), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Michael Orozco Fiscal (San Luis), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim)

Midfielders: DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Jose Torres (Pachuca), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

Forwards: Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Herculez Gomez (Santos), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), Alan Gordon (San Jose Earthquakes)

Wonder who Klinsmann will select to start and in what formation. Maybe the standard 4-4-2, but who starts opposite Gomez in that arrangement?!? Or a 4-2-3-1 with Jones and Edu/Beckerman (since Bradley isn't on the roster) in front of the defense, maybe Shea (or Williams?), Torres, and Donovan in the (attacking) midfield and Gomez on top? Should be interesting to say the least.

I've read the Edu and Cameron will be the starting central defenders, I don't know if that's just a theory or if it's going to happen. Donovan and Jones are the obvious starters in midfield, along with some combo of Torres, Beckerman, Beasley, or Shea depending on how many midfielders we play. I think Boyd and Gomez would be the best pairing up top.

Even with people DON'T miss assignments, Howard is constantly chewing people out. He's never been told "Hey, cool your crap, man." so he keeps doing it. Am I the only one that thinks he does this chewing out a bit too much? I think I mentioned it before... and so have the Univisión commentators.

Es la verdad! My comment was two-fold: a) I don't want to see Cameron make a mistake and take a step back on the MNT pecking order and b) Howard screams too much for my taste as well. Seems like every goal allowed is due to poor reorganization or recognition in front of him. Alas, he's the best we got, so we'll go with it. Having said that, I hope he steps up today and stonewalls the Mexican attack tonight.

Klinsmann vs. Mexico, World Cup 1998. I was living in Guadalajara, Mexico when this happened, at a watch party with about 1,000 people...

I bet Klinsmann wishes he had a finisher like that at his disposal! Some of his highlights are pretty cool to watch for a noob like me.

Don't think so. I think its because its not completely full?

As much as I like Cameron, he's making me very nervous. Chicharito's pace is exposing him.
