    I am so depressed right now. I'm going to go watch some Team USA Basketball clips to wash it off.

    how the hell does a country with 300 million plus people not have 11 guys better than that. I'm so sick of this mediocre play.

    Not about the numbers of people, it's about the passion for the game. All our best athletes are going to the NBA-NFL-MLB and that is not going to change with team USA getting embarrassed like this on their own soil.

    You would think but most good to great players would rather go to their parents homeland team since they actually care about Futbol.

    *coughs Giuseppe Rossi cough*

    Importance in each country::::

    USA:::::Baseball football basketball........hockey/soccer/NASCAR/etc

    Mexico::::::soccer soccer soccer........and soccer.....

    Our best athletes aren't in soccer.
    Just imagine Derrek Rose, John Wall, Chris Paul as soccer players. Our best athletes play the better sports.

    This.

    Also that Mexico has a better chance at winning anything, it's like giving Dwight Howard a chance to play on the Lakers or Rockets. We all know which team he's going to choose.

    The only Mexican players we are going to get are the ones that know they aren't good enough to play for Mexico. Similar to how guys like Irving wants to play for Australia because he must know he's not going to play for USA with Rose/Paul/Dwill/Rondo manning that PG spot for years to come.

    exactly. Soccer is everything to Mexicans. To us, it's a complete afterthought. Only the athletes who can't make the football/basketball/baseball teams play soccer in US high schools. The fact that we can even compete at all with the Mexicans is embarrassing for them.

    Mexico has better talent right now, though. The brazilian guy was the best player on the field tonight.

    Unfortunately Mexico has a bright future with talents like Chicharito and Dos Santos. The US has been praising a guy for about 5 years now as the next best thing and has done nothing to this point (Adu). Donavon is still the only bright spot on the US team, they can't depend on him forever. Hopefully this will get Bradley fired, he never should have came back as coach after the World Cup. Oh I really wonder what would have the team looked like if Klinsmann had taken over.

    Nice to know you speak for the entire country. I guess team USA is a bunch of Baseball, American Football, and Basketball rejects.

    The kid made a choice based on the recognision he'd get internationally. US really misses a player like Rossi. He'd be the 2nd best player for the US right now.

    I used to look down on him but now he's Barca and for that I love him.

    He's 22 and I don't know if you've missed the past two games but Adu has been huge for USA since he has reappeared.
