I think his team is putting a lot of pressure on him to skip these games. He wanted to play in the Gold Cup and agreed to play against Mexico, but his team talked him out of it both times. He has agreed to play in the next two friendlies though. And in interviews he's said that he has no interest in playing for Germany.
I don't think it's a wish, it's more of a misplaced statement that comments on the character of Mexico's team... Somewhat uncalled for if you ask me... I really doubt that USA will win this one, but I hope they do. Mexico has a much greater cohesion than we do right now, and they know how to hold a lead. I'll be intrigued to see how Klinsman plays this one, and how the new faces come together. I really hope this turns out to be a breakout game for some of the underutilized talents like Adu.
FIXED. Anyway, here's a nice piece of writing on U.S. born and C.D. América (MFF) Edgar "El Gringo" Castillo, who is one of only two to have been players in both teams squaring off on the 10th: He's a good defender. Seeing him a couple times already this regular season makes me believe it's something needed at the back position y'all might need. Playing with América, one of the most popular clubs in the American continent, is probably what he needs to establish himself as a top defender in Mexico's or any other league. I, for one, thought that he should have stayed playing for Mexico once he made the decision. It totally disrupted his career path. I don't think he would be playing for the MLS, though... I thought he'd be playing in Europe if not in Mexico.
The USA needs to show a lot of improvement, Mexico has some real up and coming talent and it's future looks bright. And I hate that ! Mexico should not be beating the USA, they are unworthy !!!! DD
You will bow to your CONCACAF representatives of the 2013 Confederations Cup and current GOLD CUP Champions. BOW, I say!
It's sucks Stuart Holden had another horrific injury. The kid has the worst luck. Got injured a couple weeks before the last WC, too. Starting for Bolton now, expected to start for the national team,,,, sigh http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...or-us-national-team-since-davies-car-accident <img src="http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/images/photos/001/163/468/110477792_crop_650x440.jpg?1301068267">
As successful as he has been recently (obviously injury aside), I really miss him playing for the Dynamo. I know its selfish but there are just some Dynamo players that I wish we could get back. D'Ro, Holden, Clark... God, those Dynamo could run circles around anyone in this years league.
Y'all is lucky chicharito isn't playing. Didn't see is barrera playing? Hes starting to play real real good. I expect mexico to be with zihna, guardado barrera and torrado in mid and gio and arellano in front. Woooooo Ya se armo
Well the plot thickens. Apparently I've been living under a rock. We stole a member of the Mexican national team? Go USA! http://www.thepostgame.com/features/201108/edgar-castillo-mexico-united-states-soccer
