That's because faking an injury in the NFL would get you crucified.

Get defensive much? So if there were more fake injuries the rest of the world would watch the NFL. Great point.

Offensive linemen don't try to get away w/ holdings, wide receivers don't try to fake pass interference when they have no chance...

When a player gets carried off in a stretcher in the NFL everyone is hoping he isn't paralyzed. When a player gets carried off in a stretcher in soccer everyone is hoping that his "faking strategy" will be rewarded.

I watched World Cup and many times saw the stretcher coming out for players that were not really hurt. It's stupid.

Are you really so stupid as to believe that the video you posted is typical of a soccer match? Do you watch the sport on a regular basis? I think I'll post a video of some NASCAR races showing the cars turning left. Then I'll say why the sport sucks.

Until any of you play the game at a level beyond being 8 yrs old, please don't tell me what is good and bad about it. I have played basketball, football, baseball/softball, golf, bowling, volleyball, etc., etc. There are good and bad about all sports. The need for some of you to bash soccer for fun is just sad. Yes, there is some flopping and theatrics in the game. Sometimes, it's embarrasing to the sport, like the EXTREME cases shown in that video. Sometimes, it's to gain an advantage, much like in basketball. I can't remember who said it, but I believe the quote is "If you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin."

This is going in circles. You don't even address anyone's posts, just repeating your mantra over and over. What's your point with all this? Soccer is stupid? It's not a legitimate sport? It's beneath us Americans to watch? We're smart and the rest of the world is stupid? People should stop watching soccer? Soccer is just another WWE? People who watch soccer are stupid? I'm being serious, what point are you trying to prove?

You're right on that -- the stretcher is freaking ridiculous and it did come out many, many times when it wasn't necessary.

No argument here. I haven't see one person deny it happens, or that they like it.

The only thing people have challenged him on is that we Americans are all high and mighty and don't watch silly things such as a sport w/ floppers. There are always people in every sport trying to fool the refs to gain an advantage.

Are you really stupid to get your panties all tangled up? I'm just pointing out how much flopping goes on in soccer and ehre YOU are telling me that I'm accusing the sport of being bad. I like soccer. IT IS VERY FUN TO PLAY.

The level of flopping in soccer is the highest, compared to ANY sport! And you know it. Now please read my posts before you accuse me of doing something I didn't do.

It's a bigger problem and more of an art in soccer than any other sport -- those in power need to make it stop.

Nope. I never said any of that. The title of this thread is Soccer Theatrics. That is what I am talking about.

Geez, did you even follow this thread? I hate having to explain people's own posts to themselves. That's the sign of talking w/ someone who doesn't want to listen so this will be last word here.

I addressed your contention that American's don't watch soccer because of flopping. I stated why soccer and football are and aren't popular globally.

You chalked that difference up to the rest of the world doesn't get the NFL because they don't fake injuries (again, great point).

Again, the logic that people don't like a sport because of flopping...I stated that people try to take advantages of the rules in every sport. The point is moot.

You replied that the NFL injuries are legit and soccer injuries aren't. Got it the first time.

Then you keep going on about how fake injuries and flops happen again.

So there you go, what a waste of time huh? I've already mentioned why I think soccer isn't popular here, contrary to your opinion. But you can have the final word. At least stand behind what you said, don't backtrack and argue semantics now. I'm done.

I did read your posts. Here is your exact quote again...in case you forgot.

This quote, to me, says that you actually know very little about the game. Maybe you played when you were 10. Maybe you played a little intramural in college with your frat. I don't know. What I do know is that if you truly played the game, you would not think that what was in that video is common. Those are extreme situations by a couple of morons. I can assure you that players in the leagues I play and have played in do not get treated well if they were to try that crap.

Flopping is not seen as a good thing in soccer. Where did you get that idea? It also depends on the footballing culture of the nation in question... for example, Italians and Portuguese tend to do it more than the English. Due to soccer being popular in mostly every country in the world, you will have varying degrees.

Look I can post a video of completely out of context plays to paint a picture of a particular sport, too!!!

    <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/y0MrIe6Z2hI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/y0MrIe6Z2hI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Those of you who decry flopping in soccer are in agreement with soccer fans everywhere. Nobody likes it. It's more prevalent in the European leagues than anyone would like. However, if you watch a lot of the other leagues, you won't see as much flopping.

In EITHER case, flopping is nowhere near as prevalent as you guys believe. Those of you who think so must get all of your soccer from youtube.

I don't like the WNBA so I'm going to go scour youtube for hours trying to find as many videos as I can to make the sport look bad. I am happy with my life.
