That could be the case with HSV, however if your teams depends on Van der Vaart to be healthy, you have a problem. He is made out of glas. I think Owen is not injred that much . I hope they will start to play better soon. They have a lot of Dutch players, and i always hope they succeed in other countries. I really Dislike Chelsea, I'm also not sure which players of Chelsea would be instant starters for Barca. I'm not sure about Shevchenko, not the way he is playing lately, if he starts playing like he did with Milan and Kiev, then he would be a starter for Barca. Ballack will not start for them i think, they have ronaldinho on that position, and otherwise Messi. But Terry and Cech defenitly. I hope Cech will be able to play soon, like i said i Hate chelsea, but i never like it when a player is injured, and Cech is injured bad
Great player though, from what little I've seen of him. His wife is hot too Caught everyone by surprise when he moved to unfashionable Hamburg.. it got even weirder when de Jong followed him haha
Beckham is overHYPED not overrated. There's a BIG difference. Beckham can play, as evidenced in his Man-U days. He has started to decline but is still an effective player. If you ask me, he was one of their best players in the WC, just b/c of his free kick ability and crosses. He is overHYPED b/c he is a pretty-boy and married to a Spice girl and is a fashion boy. The media just overblew his off the field celebrity to make it seem that it matched his on the field productivity. I'd take the Becks from the Man-U days on my starting 11 anyday.
I don't know, I don't know if anybody "rates" him that highly this season, it seems he's always getting criticized. Rightfully so, but you've got to admit that during the calendar year 2005 the guy was unbelievably productive (even if you are a Pool man) though not with the style points of a Ronaldinho or Gerrard.
Watched the Arsenal - CSKA game yesterday. Should have been a draw with Henry's goal disallowed incorrectly. However, I can't say CSKA didn't deserve the win. The fairly dominated the action (if not possession) and created a lot more solid chances than Arsenal did. Missing Eboue hurt a lot more than I thought it would - his bombing runs on the right really would have been useful. Also would have liked to see Clichy and Walcott earlier to widen out the packed CSKA defenders. The better question might be 'what happened?' You're right that he had a great '05 but where did that form go - was it a one off?
Here's my attack on Fat Frank from the Robinson blooper thread: "Lampard, for example, is being exposed for what he is even as we speak: a goal-scoring (should that be deflection-scoring) midfielder with good range of passing, but not much more. All he does is take pot shots and hit the occasional long pass for the commentators to wank over. A very good player, yes, but not miles ahead of the one he was at West Ham. And certainly not the second best player in the world" Shortly after I made that post, he went on to score his multiple-deflection goal against Reading.. and celebrated like he'd scored a real corker I say he's overrated primarily because his goal tally (which has been seriously inflated by penalties and deflections) and his settled role in a very efficient Chelsea midfield are glossing over the fact that he's not as special as the media make him out to be. Ballack is older and may never settle completely in the English game - but ability-wise he's equipped to play the Lampard role better than Lampard himself
I watched the game last night since I couldn't watch it live, and it was a tale of 2 halves. Barca dominate the first and Chelsea just took it to them in the 2nd. Drogba was the man of the match, he was everywhere. Boulahrouz was also awesome and did a great job on Ronhi even though he did have help from Terry and Essien. Barca really misses Eto's presence.
Looks like it was a great game with Drogba equalizing in the final minute but stupid ESPN didn't bother showing it, instead they showed lame B. Munich and some other weak ass team Barca should still advance as the 2nd seed cause they will win out.
I love the psv game, they are already secure of the second round, just as liverpool, niiice.(happy univac Hal?) One thing i do not like is that the dutch television do not show the summarys of the CL games on Tuesday, they show al the highlights on Wednesday. It used to be great Teusday and Wednesday highlights of the CL, and now i have to wait untill tonight to see the Barca-chelsea game .
I wouldn't call it a great game. There were great goals, some great plays, but overall, there were way too many fouls (and some of them were very mean fouls) and too much arguing to the referee to call it a great game.
I did not get to watch the game b/c it was not on Espn 2 or classic and I don't have Espn Deportes (i don't know how many people actually do) but they should have shown on it on the regular network rather than the atrocious b. munich game. How'd you watch it?
Yeah, baby!! Though I'd trade CL success for league title No. 19 any day of the week, to be honest.. I seriously think I could live on the warm feelings generated by our 2005 win for the rest of my life
On the internet ! The quality was actually the best I've ever seen by watching a game on the internet.
LOL, Arsenal is trying to illustrate every possible way to have the ball in front of the net and not manage a goal. 16 shots and 0 goals in one half!
It just got worse. Their movement and passing was awesome and they cut CSKA's defense to shreds but could not get that final ball in the net. Rosicky and Fabregas were the worst offenders.
I do not understand how they could not win that game. So many open chances, how is it possible to miss in front of an open goal(even the goalie was gone) not once but TWICE in one game. I'm still amazed.
Well, you basically have to use p2p programs like sopcast, ppstream or tvants, and then choose the channel that is showing the game you want to watch. The 2 websites I use to know which channel is showing what are in french, but I guess you can still probably figure out which team is which, even if you don't speak french. As I don't know how legal all this is, I won't give you the websites in here, but if you're interested, send me an e-mail at dolph_moi@yahoo.fr and I can give you more details.
