Donovan, Chandler, Torres, and Jones out with injuries/illness.

Jurgen still hasn't had Donovan and Depsey at the same time.

    ESPN2 @ 1:30 central.

There is also a U23 USA vs. Mexico game on Telefutura at 9. This is one of the last games for them before Olympic qualifying.

I was going to come in and say how terrible Altidore is playing then he give Dempsey a perfect pass for a goal; I thought he was just going to fall down again.

Excellent victory IN Italy. Held up well on defense. Clint Dempsey is currently the best American player. That finish was clinical and he's been doing it all season.

    WELL DONE, BOYS!

A great day to be a USA fan. First, USA beats Italy and now USA U-23 team is winning 2-0 against Mexico U-23 team. It's on Telefutura right now.

True, yesterday was a horrible day for me. Forst mexico loses against colombia, then the rockets lose, and to top it off Mexico lost against usa...that a good way for usa to get back at mexico for owning them in the concacaf finals.

What a great day for US Soccer.

Men beat Italy for the first time ever.
    U-23 men beat Mexico
    Women pound Denmark 5-0

sure it was a bad day for mexico but i'm sorry a u-23 friendly does not equal a confederation title.

btw... i really like that player Gyau.

Saw the highlights from a few games:

Holland vs. England: second half seemed like a good game. Unfortunately for the dutch they took out sneijder after the first half he was carrying them, don't think England would have come back if he was still in. Robben's second goal was magical. Anyway I don't think England will be able to take on the big boys in Euro 2012.

Germany vs France: Germany's only issue is on defense, it showed again in this game. Though I don't have complete faith in their strikers, but the midfield is so damn talented that they should come through more often than not.

Italy vs USA: I think 95% of the time Italy would win the game, USA just came up with that unlikely victory. Italy was also missing a few key players so I don't know if this was a true testament of Italy's # 1 squad.

What do you mean with that. The first half ended 0-0 and it took a while for Holland to score,, all their goals happened after Sneijder left the pitch. I don't know how you saw Sneijder carrying them to a victory.
Holland made a quick 2-0 in the 2nd half and then England changed their formation and went all-in, high risk to make a comeback.

I just saw highlights and it was one of the commentators who made that observation....I just repeated it because I saw Holland really struggle in the midfield when England made its run, the Dutch i guess would have been superior in the middle if Sneijder was playing as he was supposedly playing very well.

That was not a comment made on behalf of any rational US soccer fan. One has nothing to do with the other. It's a nice win in a warm up for Olympic Qualifying. That's it.
