So anyone coming here from any other country has to root for "here"? Like, if you were born in the United States or are born from U.S. parents and move to Germany and you're in a pub there, you would root for Germany against the United States? You're out of your mind, man... this is comical.
Last I checked, USA wasn't in the Copa America. However, if you guys want to bring it up and **** upon a hangout thread, be my guest, because I can **** on anything real good. If Mexican-American fans don't want to cheer for the US team, fine, I don't give a ****. If American-American fans don't give a ****, then that sucks ass. Let's get them passionate. Let's get them going. So folks, let's save the D and D loser **** for the D and D forum. Yeah, I know you guys want to post in the hangout thread because the D and D is a stupid waste land of stupidness. This is the hangout damnit. Right now, I don't give a **** about your Baracks, and Rush's and Romneys. Keep it over there.
Dang man, chilll! Do we need to post some Vanessa Hudgens pics in this thread to calm you down??
Yes. Yes. But really, some people are niche posters. They have one agenda, and that's all they post about. Same ol' ****. Mix it up some, I know people have different interests and stuff. Show some life, some color.
If I were to permanently immigrate there and seek German citizenship - yes. If I were a tourist or just a transfer there - no. At the very least, I would not boo the German team. What the hell is so comical about that? Bottom line - do Mexican immigrants want to be Americans or do they just want the US to be Mexico Norte?
The bottom line is that the back four of the US line sucked ass, and Howard had a bad game. We didn't control the ball enough when we were up 2-0. The Mexican forwards were too skilled, and the US defense got exploited. Let's get ready for qualifying for 2014.
If Germany continued to change their laws so that you couldn't get the same rights as local-born peeps the way the U.S. keeps changing it for immigrants from ANY country, MAYBE. What makes you think I or anyone else who roots for Mexico in U.S. stadiums isn't a tourist or transfer here? No one is booing the U.S. team, only their fans. What the heck business is it of anyone else? We come here either following our family or friends for a "better life", but that's none of your or my business, yo. If they want to cheer for their team, let them, man... don't call that classless. If your team plays better than my team for a long time in the world stage, MAYBE I won't root for mine anymore... but don't come and tell me that there is some sort of rule that says I can't root for my own at ANY time. What the heck is wrong with you...?
The overwhelming majority of those in attendence in LA were either American citizens or resident aliens (legal or illegal). They can boo anything they want. It just shows a complete absence of class.
Hmmm..."overwhelming majority"??? I didn't know someone kept stats on that. Odd. You don't know this for a fact, just blurting crap out the wrong end. Dude, you're starting to sound like that other idiot who said was drunk. Anyway... I apologize for this, Kam. Switching gears: Get ready for COSTA RICA vs. COLOMBIA tomorrow. Should be an entertaining match. Lavolpe's style is similar to Argentina's.
Fine. I support amnesty and relaxed immigration laws. But know ye this - if the US becomes a carbon copy of Mexico, then the golden goose is killed. And, since it's my country (and perhaps yours too), you better believe that cultural assimilation of immigrants is my business.
What. THE F. Ever. Let's talk futbol/soccer here. Take that D & D talk somewhere else. Who do you like tomorrow, Costa Rica or Colombia...?
I've been called a lot worse up in here. I really didn't mind it at all. Besides, Swoly is a good egg.
Swoly, et. all: This is the Copa America thread. I am excited about this tournament and you are, too. You wouldn't be posting here if you weren't. Gwayneco most likely isn't. Who cares what his views about the cheering patterns of Mexican fans are? They don't belong in this thread. Can we please talk about the football? I thought tonight showed why Argentina isn't a hands-down favorite to win this year. They really looked alive with Aguero on the pitch and I like Di Maria's play, too. There were flashes of Messi from Messi, but he wasn't commanding. Bolivia must feel incredibly lucky to escape with the 1-1, even if their one goal was insanely lucky and Argentina should feel bad for giving it up. Then again, it did seem to awaken the Albiceleste; maybe they'll come out with fire in the next match.
this. i love those two. especial when suarez got a red card protecting his own goal(like a goali). changed history.
Brazil playin right now, let's see how they start the Copa. Really fallin in love with their new magic quartet of Robinho, Pato, Neymar, Ganso. Menezes is really doing a great job developing a young, promising squad for the future.
gwayneco/gweenie - you have achieved epic douchebag status here once again, please take your leave again (though I doubt you were ever really gone..) or ritually immolate yourself. O Selecao is in control but guys like Robinho Neymar etc keep looking for the perfect goal, rather than the easiest goal - I don't think Neymar should be out there in a game like this since he's so erratic, I'd just go for a guy like Nilmar or Hulk or whatever who will just try to put the ball in rather than trying to make the perfect dribble/pass whatever.
LOL, you include Robinho in your "magic quartet"? The guy is talented but he's proven over the years that he's only able to bring it in minute flashes. Also, Pato, Neymar, and Ganso are all unproven in the big stage. So I think its is a little premature to be calling this group magical. I agree though that Menezes is taking the squad in the right direction. I don't know if KaKa is healthy but I would have included him in the squad. The midfield didn't look very good.
