you see... i knew somebody thought my uniform idea was "professional" other than myself. yepperz, had to bring "yaomega supreme" back. bwahahahaha! so our resumes can suck really bad, but still have a chance... because you're mainly looking for talent? to not have to explain the artwork because the artwork explains itself?
Hey Tim you should post that job listing in all the elementary schools around Houston, maybe one or two have won academy awards. When players don't like it that should tell you something is wrong.
Tell you what, Cat/MoTaylor and two Excel spreasheet dudes for you and Finley. When your contract expires next year, we may re-sign you with half the MLE (multimedia languages exception) and keep the rest for some veteran Powerpoint free agent. Deal?
Hey Tim, I've done a little freelance graphic work in the past. It was all mainly done on 3DS Max though, which is kind of like a beginner application. However, I neglected to keep a portfolio of all my previous work, being that was not going to be my line of work. Currently I am an architect, but I am currently in college following up more on Graphic design a tad bit mainly because I feel this experience could help me land bigger jobs as an architect with CAD capabilities. In fact, I'm nearing certification at North Harris Community College. In fact, all that is left is one more class and passing the Capstone(sp?) and I'm certified. But I would be willing to seriously think about a career change too. That is if you guys would be willing to work with a college student who has YET to be certified as a CAD operator? And IF the pay is right, too. I have to be truthfull about that. I know you guys would appreciate honesty. And as for regarding portfolio, I know this doesn’t look good on my behalf, but will a computer be present at the interview to allow some of us to REALLY display our talents? Hopefully so, because if NOT, I would consider my potential employment opportunity with the Rockets organization doomed without a portfolio. On a good note though, thanks for giving all of us fans an employment with the Rockets Organization. Especially give the uncertain economic situation and bad unemployment situation. Most companies aren't even returning phone calls in response to applications. To see a major sports franchise lending out a helping hand like this is realy touching. Thanks
Wow, I feel complete now that I've fooled Tim!!! But now it's time for the ClutchCity.Net BBS and Houston Rockets WHODUNIT? Seriously, is that you, Tim? It's REALLY hard to find pictures of the guys inside the organization. Oh, and my hair consists of cornrows like Moochie's minus the cornrows. (I look like a less-electrocuted Brian Grazer...)
I dont think thats him Mooch..I saw him on the news one day..and he looked younger than that.. but I could be wrong..god knows it wouldnt be the first time..
so, Tim, did you place money in the tip jar for this ad placement. gotcha again! or how about squelching sway's picture of Cuttino in the new duds.
I can do a stick man in the paint program in windows.. I don't know if that classifies me as a 'computer graphic professional'.. but I'm just hoping this thread doesn't turn into a place where hundreds of people start posting their resume..
Mr Mooch, that's not Tim. btw: They publish pictures of the entire organization each year in the media guide.
Oh, reeeaalllllyyy. Well, better go get my 2000-2001 media guide signed by none other than... ...Jason Collier!
If you had been at the Smeg Tour game..you would have had your chance..JC was below us at the end of the game signing autographs.. Talk about a collectors item!
I am sure Rocketeer is like me, and we make to much money on freelance/contract work to take on a 8-5 job. As much as I love the Rockets, unless they are paying 6 digits (or close), it just does not make financial sennse. From Tim's comments this is probably a low paying job in the 30's or something.
I have trained a lot of graduates from the Art Institure in my career, and most of them are lucky to get in the mid 30's at an entry level in DP/Design. If he was hiring a head designer, then yes he would pay more. He has other artist, so this sounds like an entry level job to me. I said the 30's, not 30k! More then likely in the mid to high 30 range would be my guess.
I don't want to speak for Rocketeer, but he currently is employed by these guys though they seem like losers.
