T-Mo will get some time on the court, and we'll keep him, because we essentially have only 2nd-round picks next year, and I doubt any of them would amount to more than T-Mo.

He'll get about 7 minutes per game until Rice comes up lame, then he'll get more time. The thing about T-Mo is his confidence. If he had Steve's ego, T-Mo would be really something.

But I think he'll stick around as the back-up 3, emergency back-up 4. At least someone on this team needs to play on-the-ball D.

The thing is also we have not had any off season reports. He was his usual efficient self in the SL but we have no idea what he is doing. He commented at the end of last year that he was going to work on his inside game and to try to be more aggressive offensively in the paint. That seem okay to me but we just do not know. There is a poster, Tmo, who may have some idea of his off season progress. This time last year folks on this board were calling him the SF of the future. Go figure!

Yeah, 't'would be nice to know that T-Mo's been doing more this summer than driving on an expired license or whatever he was ticketed for.

Anyone know anything about T-Mo's summer? Any working-on-the-game stuff?

T-Mo is a COMPLETE 6'10. He's not Stacey Augmon, and he's no Doug Christie.

BUT, I do think he can be a great defender for certain players. Those tall SF's.

I think if he slightly improves his lateral quickness, and slightly imroves his strength, he can be an EXCELLENT 3/4 guy like Bo Outlaw maybe. He's got to learn to work a little harder than everyone else, and have a little more energy than everyone on the court.

I agree with the rebounding part, but am not convinced he's about his defense just yet.

That is what scares me. At least we aren't paying T-Mo SA dollars.

I think T-Mo is a nice defender and a good rebounder at times..
The last few games of the season.. i notice all the dirty work he put up for the rockets with the offensive boards and defensive sets. I heard a year before Kenyon Martin was selected that T-Mo would have been a top 10 pick in the draft.. but o wellz lol go rockets :p

Rodney McCray. He was a good player but didn't have fire in his game. I wasn't excited about getting T-Mo last year, but I have changed my mind. IMO, T-Mo is going to put it all together this year for the Rocks.

    BBob,

I don't watch much college ball so I can't make any intelligent comment on college tenativity translating to pro confidance. I suspect is rare at best, and I do appreciate your comment. It it pretty rare that a real good player used to be bad. Mediocre players can improve to good, but never great.

Here is the best I got, and it will scare you to death. Kelvin Cato. This year Francis spoon fed him a bunch of jams and I think his overall play got better.

I hope TMo will be good enough to not suck, and by being used only in places where he can shine, developes confidance. I think that we are deep enough that when is is overmatched, he won't have to play and get beat up.

RocketsPimp -just for the record, I'm not saying his game is like Andersons, I'm saying that TMo can contribute (hoepefully - and may be best case scenario) as much to the Rockes as Anderson did to the Jazz. Anderson was the classic role player, but he was a solid contributor to a pretty good team. The problem we had was we were looking for him to play all game, not just spots. I think used correctly TMo can be a really good spot contributor.

I would give him another year to develop. he definitely needs to improve his shot, and he got a lot of pt last year that should help him.

Defnitely needs to bulk up before I compare him to Bo, though :D

If the Rockets get a chance to trade him most likely they will in wrap up package with KT or Mooch. Or even both.

Kenny Thomas. All the critics thought it was a bad pick at #22, and the number one doubt was his motivation.

I think TMo has a better chance to contribute to this team than most people on this thread are giving him. I'm basing this mostly on the fact that Rudy gave him sevral starts and a good amount of game time (relatively speaking for 2nd round rookie and especially compared to Langhi.) Rudy must see something in him, he must be contributing in practice or showing some promise that Langhi never did.

TMo, I think has very good athletic skills and alot of potential. However last year, it is all he showed. Off and on, he showed what he was capable of good defense, rebounding and ran the court well. Consistency was his problem especially in his outside shooting, but he was just a rookie though. Hopefully with one year under his belt, he will improve his play with consistency. If so, he will be a good contributor to the team. Who knows, maybe a great contributor!

So he had no confidece last year and couldn't hit a shot. That happens to a lot of late 1st and 2nd rounders. Hell...look at Griffin's FG%. TMo shot fairly well in college. That should translate to the pros. Give him some time. I think TMo will fill in nicely for Nachbar in the future.
