man if cuban talks about moving screens in this series IF dallas moves on I wonder what he'll say about amare's "screens" i just saw most of the third and fourth today and i counted at least 8 different times when he set a screen where he was even close to being set and nothing was called. contrast that to i remember only seeing 3 times where he was set.

I hope the way the Suns dismantled this team makes everyone who thinks they can't win it rethink their opinions. Its one thing to say a 5 seed running team can't win a championship, its a another to say a 1 seed can't win it all playing that style. The Suns have consistently proven all year that they can dictate the pace of the game.

Stupid hick Jason Williams had a confrontation with Geoff Calkins after the game, stealing his pen and doing his Appalachian routine

Eh...yeah, I sort of noticed that after I made the post. You've been posting. I just hadn't seen them in a while.

Paper tiger. Good defensive team that can beat anyone on any given night, but not going to beat top playoff teams consistently. And most importantly, they do not have that go-to guy.

The difference between the Rockets and Grizzlies is Memphis has the easy part - the depth. The Rockets have the difficult part - the stars.

I expect Memphis to make substantial changes. Same playoff result as last season (sweep) and Jerry West was pissed last season. Jason Williams has to be gone now (link) and as Deuce first mentioned, they have to be a good candidate to go after the likes of Steve Francis. (posted this image before)

I expect them to do something to make sure Stro doesn't go to Houston as well.

Anybody got the scoop on the Bonzi Wells stuff? Seems like he pulled a Vernon Maxwell. And JW seems like he went the Vernon Maxwell School of Exemplary Behaviour.

That team has a bunch of attitude problem punks who think they are better then what they really are. Fratello sees this and the no discipline do whatever I feel like style of play that doomed them in the Suns series and plagued them throughout the year. And sorry to say Stromile Swift fans, but he is one of those punks. Him, Bonzi, and JW are the prime punks who continue to try to play how they want to play instead of following the system. That's why I don't like Swift, that and he doesn't have the consistent outside jumper that we need. All flash, none of the bue collar stuff that we need.

So sad, even when they are winners, they're losers. Finally, after all these years, start going to the playoffs, but now just can't win a game.

PS, I think Memphis would be good for Francis. At least with West they have a legitimate front office. Perhaps he could develop into the player he can be there. Orlando isn't doing much for him.

Memphis simply has too much depth. Normally that's a big plus for a team, but when you have very good players battling each other for minutes.....

I don't know for what player, but packaging two or three of those guys for that One Difference Maker would help Memphis tremendously.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they slid back into semi-oblivion, either. The West is tough enough as is.

I'd like to have some of their players, and Stro isn 't top on that list.

I don't think "depth" is their problem. Teams don't have too much depth, the Celts in the 60s had Hall of Famers on the bench, the Lakers and Celts have had some (older HofF) too on their 80s teams. The problem is quality at the top, which you and Clutch both referrred to later.

Think about it, on the whole Memphis roster only Gasol might start for the Suns, and even then he might not start b/c they might be better with their superfast, superathletic, small front court (Johnson, Marion and Stoud) than having Gasol slow things down.

I agree with you. The Suns are a more athletic and more offensively skilled version of the Mavs, if the Mavs get by us they have no chance versus the Suns because the Suns are a similar style only better. If we get through the Mavs we have a little better chance but only if we play 3X the discipline we have shown the last 3 games and Yao dominanates game in and game out (Phx is even more equipped to wear down Tmac than Dallas is). I don't see it happening, pencil the Suns versus the Spurs in the WCF and I would not discount the Suns chances.
