Rockets lose today I cannot wait to get on clutchfans tonight see what else moronic things ya come up with
remember TJones in the playoffs last year and in half of his regular season games? yeh I love him too, but he disappears...especially under pressure. Now give it some time.
I didn't see you knee-jerking about the same thing after the game vs Memphis? Did I miss it then? There's no point knee-jerking and finger-pointing over a single game over a player who just join the team. Give the man and the team some time to gel.
A hater will consistently address issues that make him feel better about a situation. This argument is like pointing out the gas mileage on a used luxury SUV that a friend got for 10% of it's market value.
I'm glad not everyone is thinking like this... Haha, currently on this forum the top 2 new threads are talking about trading Harden/this one on Smith, just imagine if a team was run like that... Lol, after 1 bad game they would dismantle the team. This isn't NBA 2k, and even the Bulls in 96 (72-10) had some off nights... I know we're not the Bulls but some of these threads are just insane. I mean I'm sure the Spurs were about to dismantle their team after losing a lot of games recently until beating us (yeah right).
This is what anyone who posts on this thread should conentrate on: "Tonight he looked horrible trying to be a playmaker which threw away possessions of the game. He should not be taking long twos or threes that's his weak point on offense" The OP didn't say we lost the game because of Smith. What he said here can be sampled more than just on Spurs game. Also, this thread produced some good quotes:
I haven't been following games since T mac left but when I heard about Josh Smith getting picked up I turned on the tube and watched them play the Memphis Griz.. Wow I am really impressed with this team! they are so deep and complete. They can make a serious push at the title. Josh Smith was a great pick up.
I think more should be concentrated on the reality that most of the team played bad. I don't know if it's because they were so up on the signing and the win in Memphis or what but it's like they weren't even interested in completing passes. Also I don't think Smith demanded to start, if you watched the Memphis games, Smith did some things (athletic-wise) that DMo just can't do, those rebounds he got on the offensive end were pretty aggressive. Iirc DMo didn't even play in the OT.
You're right, I mean some of those turnovers he had (like the back to back drive/kickout turnovers) are something that will take time for the team to get on the same page. And I'd prefer to see more of his inside game compared to his last 2 shots (outside). I definitely love that he is an athletic 4 though and I hope it works out. It's something that could cause teams to have to focus on him, making it easier for other players. Especially since he's not the number 1 option here, it could make it easier for him to contribute unlike in Detroit. I'm also honestly just excited that Houston is making moves, even if this doesn't work out in the end, at least the Rockets tried. I think in the next month or two should give a good indication. I'd sooner have them clicking in the playoffs than worry about regular season games.
I'm just gonna post this in every negative Josh Smith thread I see. The Rockets have lost 3 out of there last 5 games.
