I rather have jones and dmo over this guy. I always thought he was a cancer. Tonight he looked horrible trying to be a playmaker which threw away possessions of the game. He should not be taking long twos or threes that's his weak point on offense.
He is better than Dorsey and Black, and at a prorated amount of only 2m it was worth the shot. I am dubious of him - never liked his style all that much, think he makes too many stupid plays to be a part of a good winning team - but now that he is here, I am hoping the coaching staff and Morey can show him where he is most effective and force him to play there instead of all over the place like he has in the past. DD
Shut up please. You make the collective Rockets fan base look dumber by starting dumb threads like this. (He was free. Your an idiot if you don't sign him)
Moreys been wanting him. His defense is good, he rebojnds like a big should, I like his kickouts from the pos also I will judge him playoffs when his man lets him shoots those jumpers, can he knock them down to keep his man out the lane, time will tell ?
Come on guys, yes we had too many turnovers but officiating was worst. Always bad in San Antonio. They are well coached, well positioned but let us be honest. Without the help of the refs I am not sure how well they would do. Smith like many others got called for dubious fouls without getting calls
Lol at OP. Smith took 7 shots! Beverly took 10. Smith took one long 2 which they were begging him to take, and one 3 that may have gone in if dwight didn't offensive goaltend. Oh wait, the turnovers right OP? Well the entire team had 25, harden had 9. And josh smith was the sole problem tonight?
Because he is a good rebounder/defender/passer for only $2m, it would have been insane not to pick him up. So he looked bad tonight, Beverley did as well, does he need to be axed? I really didn't like him being a main facilitator, he's a good passer, for a big man, not somebody to run the point and Harden deferred to him too much. He also passed too much on the drive when he could go strong to the hoop. But maybe they were trying him out that facility tonight. It's not as though his game tonight in any way resembled the last game played, or even his shooting woes in Detroit. I see a lot of good things in Josh Smith, just get off his nuts until he's integrated.
did he turn the ball over all 25 times? or miss all 13 free throws? he wasn't the ref who called those splitter flops and he certainly didn't miss as many shots as bev or turn the ball over like Harden did. yeah he had a poor game but unless he's so bad he made all of the above happen himself, i think you should just chill. we will be fine, we lost to the defending champs and even when missing guys they are a heck of a team
