in Houston?? looking out the window at the traffic on I-10..or considerable lack thereof..i'd beg to differ! it looks like a sunday out there.
Hey, it ain't that bad! I did that for a couple of years and the only thing that I didn't like was having to deal with stupid customers. Plus, we always got out grub on by making "samples."
Not me! I'm sitting here trying to decide whether to go back to sleep or not. of course, in my job, just because you don't have to work doesn't mean you don't have work to do. Hopefully I will get some research done this afternoon and a good deal of class prep accomplished tonight. But at least I didn't have to get up early.
Yea I have to work, I only get the major holidays. But my gf, she has to work today, but gets off for Presidents Day! Pretty hypocritical if you ask me. BTW, enjoy those sorry ass NBA games. The Rockets dont play until 7PM
That is the one good thing for me - my Monday night class starts next week instead of today. My Wednesday night class starts this Wednesday, though.
I'm at work, business as usual... Although, I thought all schools where closed, but a girl I'm dating is a teacher and she's working...She's in a school district where the majority is white, but I don't want to jump to conclusion...she said they were off for the entire week of Thanksgiving, so maybe that's it...
Not to bring this into D&D territory, but... sometimes people seem to think that a business is being intentionally racist just because they don't pick MLK day to be one of their holidays. I don't think that's necessarily the case. It's not like it's a longstanding holiday with lots of tradition around it like Christmas or Thanksgiving. I mean, what do most people do on this particular holiday? I'm all for honoring as many people as possible with holidays, though. Sleeping in is good.
"We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools" - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. btw I dont have to work school starts tommorrow here at UT.... my big plans are to go see the basketball game against Okie St... Dickie V is going to be in the house.
I have to work, but I always take an extra-long lunch to watch the parade downtown. There always seem to be a lot of families out downtown on MLK day.
If watching kids revise, proofread, and rewrite a reflective journal is working, then I work hard fo the money!
