Granger is broken. Why is he even in conversations? He hasn't played a single game this season and he had a bad 2011-2012 season.

How about we trade for Dirk Nowitzki? He expressed displeasure with the Mavs direction. ;)

I could see us buying low on the last few effective years of Pau Gasol, possibly via a 3 way involving picks, Morris, Patterson, or Delfino? It just seems like everyone here forgets how truly effective Pau can be in the right system/environment.

Just 2 years ago, he was a top 10 player in the league. Playing alongside Asik and Harden could give us huge returns on the right deal.

We've got so many good passers. We need someone who can finish the ally-oops and rebound, someone who can attack from above. Rudy Gay would be nice... and Kevin Love / Aldridge will both be good fits as stretch 4's with rebounding skills.

I don't see how he fits into an uptempo offense, and while he has good range for a 4, it's not 3pt range.

couple that with Morey's recurring use of "foundational" player. that is hardly the case at this point in his career.

    methinks that ship has sailed

Someone who goes for the right price and offers value to the team is what Morey wants.... obviously someone who makes the team better.

If old, maybe a good deal on Dirk, Garnett.... could ship some youth to those teams looking to rebuild.

If young and a star.... possibly ship a package to Minny.

Other than that, look for Morey to throw us a huge curve ball. (most likely situation)

Time for Morey to blow up the team IMO, lets start fresh

My guess is Morey is looking for an undervalued player with potential to be a star and with the ability to be a number one option (like Harden was).

I'm expecting him to go for someone like Jefferson, especially if he can be had for little.

Love and Aldridge are definitely on his (and everybody else's) list. Likely unattainable (but we were saying the same things about Harden a while back).

Millsap is definitely attainable, but is he worth salary he will be paid?

Granger is another possibility. His contract expires in 2014 so we would still be players in the 2014 FA class. The question is if he's worth the assets we would have to give up for him. The same goes for Pau Gasol.

I think taking on Rip Hamilton for a first round pick is definitely a Morey move to get another asset with our cap space. Would not be shocked if this went down as our only move at the deadline.

May 22, 1995, Western Conference Finals, Game 1, Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs
Horry hit a jumper with 6.5 seconds left to give Houston a 94-93 win over San Antonio at the Alamodome.

June 11, 1995, NBA Finals, Game 3, Orlando Magic at Houston Rockets
With the Rockets up 101-100 with 20 seconds left and the shot clock winding down, Hakeem Olajuwon kicked it out to Horry, who hit a 3 over Orlando's Horace Grant to give Houston a 104-100 lead with 14.1 seconds left. It led them to a 106-103 win and a 3-0 series lead.

I can see your point that thus far, Parsons is on track to be better statistically than Horry. And if Parsons can replicate Horry's knack for clutch shots, I will totally agree with your assessment. Just saying it's too early.

Horry was the man in crunch time...

Why Jefferson? He wouldn't be that good in our offense and his defense certainly wouldn't make up for it.

    31 Cole Aldrich C 24 6-11 240 Kansas $2,445,480
    5 James Anderson SG 23 6-6 215 Oklahoma State $532,737
    3 Omer Asik C 26 7-0 255 $8,374,646
    99 Patrick Beverley PG 24 6-1 185 Arkansas $281,376
    10 Carlos Delfino SF 30 6-6 230 $3,000,000
    15 Toney Douglas PG 26 6-2 185 Florida State $2,067,880
    13 James Harden SG 23 6-5 220 Arizona State $5,820,417
    6 Terrence Jones PF 21 6-9 252 Kentucky $1,485,000
    7 Jeremy Lin PG 24 6-3 200 Harvard $8,374,646
    2 Marcus Morris PF 23 6-9 235 Kansas $1,905,360
    20 Donatas Motiejunas PF 22 7-0 222 $1,361,400
    25 Chandler Parsons SF 24 6-9 227 Florida $888,250
    54 Patrick Patterson PF 23 6-9 235 Kentucky $2,096,760
    4 Greg Smith PF 22 6-10 250 Fresno State $762,195
    30 Royce White PF 21 6-8 260 Iowa State $1,645,440

Looks like we can spare a PG, and several bigs and undersized PFs... time to say by to Parsons or Morris because IMO they are both starter quality tweeners. Patterson maybe to seeing since he's a big guy who can contribute to a team. One of those guys seems like trade bait.

He once was a very skilled player, but now he has lost all his speed and lift due to injuries on BOTH knees.

Is he better than what Patterson and Morris already give us? Doubt it.

mavs will want picks and young starter quality players with bright futures... parsons/morris/patterson type... a big package of our young for an old guy. Not wise... also the fan base will not want dirk... that's like the 97 rockets adding malone and stockton to their roster and signing on sloan as a coach.

would make our halfcourt offense bearable one for once while giving harden more chances to spot up and shoot instead of off the dribble. Sad that you guys say he cant play defense but any real nba fan knows he can
