I disagree that Tea Partiers are some group of crazies. They have been smeared that way by the media.

Most are fed up with the size of the federal government. That's really what the core of the Tea Party is.

It's also a Houston-centric forum and Harris County is a rare blue zone in a sea of red. With the Texans you get a much larger swath of the state and the political forum at Texans Talk for instance is extremely conservative. That being said the Rockets are a Texas team and there a lot more conservatives posting here than some would like to admit.

The city of Houston is blue, but "Houston" fans span more than just the city limits. The suburbs are very red.

Shining example right here of an extreme lib trying to "moderate" their position.

That is the point I was making at the end of my post -- there are a lot more conservatives posting here than some realize -- during the elections they really come out of the woodwork.

And even then they are FAR outnumbered by libs here. OP was asking what sort of ratio we have here. If you think there's anything other than a decided lib slant, then you're probably a lib who thinks of himself as a moderate.

Truth is that the leftward drift by the Left party is as well documented as the rightward drift by the Right party in recent years. Stop pretending otherwise. I'll admit I'm a conservative. Just admit you're a liberal and stop pretending, eh?

In what context are conservatives "far right"?

Because both Democrats and Republicans many years ago both used to believe in a much smaller government than we have today.

^^ In other words, how have conservatives moved to an "extreme right" position that both sides weren't at in the past?

You're making a lot of assumptions and labeling people with very limited information -- having liberal views doesn't immediately make one a rabid eco-terrorism supporting socialist.

My "cause"? And what do you think that my "cause" is?

I don't let liberals try to parade themselves as "moderates" - I call them on it. That is dishonest.

More honesty in presentation would make for more honest debate. As if there is still actual debate here.

And they disappear after they lose the election when they're reminded of their ridiculously bad predictions.

You make it sound like there's a clear distinctive boundaries that only separates people into only 3 categories politically. How's that possible

a lot of people call themselves moderates because they get off on being in the middle.

Dave Thomas once explained that the reason Wendy's offers the triple, even though nobody buys it, is because it makes more people get the double. Same thing.

Cluthfans itself is probably 50-50, but the liberals represent about 90% of the posts in D&D. They think spamming the board helps their cause or something.

In between the 25,000 warheads, trillion dollar highway system and 91% top marginal rate?

    Haha...

I'll apologize in advance for not going through the giant pile that has accumulated on this board, but if you look at the posts centered around, both before and after, Obama's re-election It'll paint you a good enough picture. It has surprisingly been a lot better as time has gone on since this will be his last term in office and there is nothing that can be done now, so I can see why you may have questions.

KC also put it pretty well, and by noting treeman's short fuse you probably already understand the lack of tolerance exhibited by those on the far right. My advice would be not to open the can of worms as this is the most peace the D&D has had in a while. Most of the time it is a damned cesspool.
