What you fail to understand is that even before McGrady got sidelined he really wasnt doing that much for the team. This team is going to the playoffs and have an excellent chance of advancing to the 2nd round for the first time in years. Now that being said, if the we do advance what will you do then? Will you stay assertive with your ridiculous claims or will you jump back on the bandwagon and pretend you never even started this thread?
You need to change your handle. While the McGrady supporter in me understands where you are coming from, the Rockets lover in thinks that your negativity shames both Tony Montana and Brad Jordan. If we lose, it will be on the Rockets but don't talk like that is a foregone conclusion or it is deserved. With or without Tracy, we have the talent on this team to actually move pretty deep into the playoffs. It will all just come down to effort, defense and coaching. I think we got a very good shot and should be able to advance this year where as last year, we didn't have the reserve or up front players due to injuries (Yao out, Alston out for over half the series, Battier and McGrady playing hurt, etc.). I mean really last year even with all that we had a shot but this year, we should get it done.
Does it matter whether or not you have HCA? The last 2 years the Rockets had HCA and ended up losing both series. Just want them to be consistent through out all quarters and avoid meltdown. Anyway Good luck Rockets!
See: Home vs. Away records of every playoff team this season. In the past I honestly didn't think it made much actual difference, but I'm starting to believe otherwise.
uhh.. yeah so Tmac tells Stephen A Smith the day before the trade deadline instead of his coach or teammates
Tracy . . . Aren't you suppose to be Rehabbing?? Rocket River ". . . . NOTHING IS *EVER* TMAC's Fault. . . LEAVE TMAC ALONE!!" - Mr. Scarface
Its time for these people who make these knee-jerk threads to come out and fess up to their ****. I dont ever want to see your threads or replies regarding the Rockets on this site. YOU HAVE LOST ALL CREDIBILITY.
#1....I never predicted them to lose in the first. I just said they can't blame McGrady when they did. I never said....THEY WILL DEFINTELY lose in the 1st round. Now, this team is NOT better with a Healthy T-Mac...period. This series shows that. The inability to get the ball to Yao was HIGHLIGHTED by Portland. Ron Artest didn't show up til Game 6. McGrady would take the pressure off of Yao....... We will see the Lakers exploit the lack of scoring on this team. The question is...will the Rockets be competitive? Many are picking a sweep by the Lakers......
Also, I have been a Rocket/Astros fan since 1980 (7 years old), Oilers fan since 1978....(now Texans). I never root against my teams, but I have seen EVERY Collapse an Houston team has done in the last 29 years........so, being realistic about a Houston Teams' chances is PAR for the Course. Too many BONE-HEADED plays, Too many losses in games they are supposed to win, too many CHOKES. So, Blind faith in a team is no longer an OPTION. They have to prove it. The Rockets did what they needed to do to beat Portland. Don't get all high and mighty because they did what they were supposed to do (being the more experienced team). After 12 years of not doing ANYTHING...they need to beat the Lakers for us longtime fans to get that faith back. I will root for them....I won't pick them to win.
With your thread thats titled: so WHEN the Rockets lose in the 1st...You were implying that they will win in the 1st round of the playoffs? RIDICULOUS. And to answer your question, yes. I am not only predicting that the Rockets will win in the 2nd round, I'm also emotionally invested in them doing so. So when a loss in the regular season occurs, I do not make threads about how this team will lose in the 1st round. I believe thats called being a fan of a team you support. Through thick and thin of not just one season, but decades. 1 player is not bigger than the whole team. Yao, T-Mac, Ron, anyone...it doesnt matter. Have fun rooting for the Lakers, hopefully we can prove you wrong.
When you made this ignorant thread you knew the Rockets were gonna play the Blazers. Why the sudden change of heart on the way the Rockets were supposed to dominate them with their experience? You specificaly state that when they lose this series, dont blame Mac.??
You guys are DENSE. EMOTIONAL Invested????? I have 29 years of emotional investment in Houston teams. Please. Unlike you....After 29 years, I can root for my team...without BLINDERS. I make them prove they can win before I go ALL GAGA because they win a series they were supposed to win. Beat the Lakers......then.....I will go GAGA. If they don't, then they would have had a good season....and look forward to good one next year (hopefully, with a Healthy McGrady).
