I have a BA with a major in English and a minor in History. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do next.
got my B.S. Molecular Biology from UT and minors in chemistry and japanese...do i use any of this stuff these days...of course.
Just graduated this December from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BS in CS, and minor in Management.
Meteorology at Florida State, one of the best in the nation for the field. Minoring in physics, mathematics, and probably computer science. Entered this past fall, will probably graduate after 3 years.
Major: Industrial & Labor Relations (human resources, unions, organizational behavior, collective bargaining, etc.) School: Cornell University (#1 for ILR) Location: Crappy, depressing, stupid, liberal Ithaca, NY Closest Whataburger to Ithaca: So far, it's depressing to talk about... Current use of major: Analyzing my Office Space-like workplace environment from within and laughing (maniacally) at inefficiencies and out-of-whack organizational command structure. Also using savvy negotiating tactics to talk my way out of writing TPS reports. When not busy, working feverishly to create a "Jump to Conclusions" mat...
I guess I'll have to wait another life time before I'm able to participate in this thread (not like I add a whole lot to this bbs). But, ten years behind the bar did teach me a couple of things: women are truely amazing, live music is always better than recorded music, I can drink anything...ANYTHING, and the value of a higher education has it's true worth in the system. RR
I graduated in Dec. 2000 at UT-Austin with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Learning and Development. (Elementary Education) I am a first year teacher, teaching 4th grade in Georgetown, TX. I love it, but i work my ass off....
HRM Major at UH I always thought the Daily Cougar sucked, especially the cartoons! I'm in the Honors College, it is as dorky as it sounds...
It is not that bad. They say you have to have at least one Honors class per semester, but they're not too hard on it. And you get to graduate with Honors. And the classes aren't that much harder, except for Human Situation, which is required. It's not that bad really.
I got nothing from anywhere. (although I did try out the Electrical Engineering program at UH before I dropped out due to being offered a job in a totally unrelated field. I also dropped out to help my family out after my dad's heart attack. Degree? We don't need no steenkin' degree!) I currently do all kinds of stuff for a living... like surf CC.net for example.
Ah yes, the sub-terranean dungeon for geeks. Is Dr. Friscina or however you spell it still there? Dr. Estes? And Mr. Wimp? Can't remember his name (was it Monroe?), but was the whiniest sounding human I ever met. Anyway... I hope you enjoy "The Human Situation" 'cause you'll never use that crap anywhere.
Okay, it does sound dorky. Yeah Estess and Monroe are still there. It's so freaky how they can remember everyone's name. No, you never use the Human Situation, but it makes you sound smart sometimes!
Vesceysux: hey, I'm considering Cornell for law school. Is Ithaca really that bad? Some people say it's really beautiful country... others that it's the most boring place on earth. I tend to like cities. Would I hate it?
