I agree. People need to back off from vspan a bit an give him some time. ive already said not to expect anything from him this year but if he works hard in the off-season next year we should see a lot more of him.
By the way had Gallis stayed in the States that name would be inscribed in a hall of fame or statue somewhere. Undeniably of the best players ever outside of the NBA.

Yes... yes that explains it perfectly. Jeff van Gundy, a winning and experienced professional coach, doesn't want to develop two promising young players. That logic right there is airtight and flawless in everyway. JVG couldn't be keeping V-Span and Novak on the bench because they are young rookies who aren't ready to get more than a few minutes here and there... could he? I mean, certainly the only way to become a better NBA player is to be thrown into regular season games whether you're ready or not; well being of the team, win/loss record be damned!

V-Span and Novak's level of play have little to nothing to do with JVG. They are two players who are gonna have to get used to the NBA, to the JVG system, to the practicing, and they are two guys who are gonna have to figure out their roles before they can become real contributors. Sometimes players come into the NBA (especially 2nd round guys like these two) and they are just not ready to be thrust into heavy minutes like a 1st round pick (Lebron, Roy, Durant, Oden, etc.) might be. V-Span's time will come, and when he grows as a player some more... JVG will give him more and more minutes accordingly.

My point is, give V-Span some time, give JVG a break, and give this talk about our team not being a title contender a rest. Our team is currently a title contender. Our team will likely, barring any unforeseen mishaps, be a contender for the next couple of years. By saying that our team isn't currently of championship caliber undermines the great team we have in place. We do have a few minor holes, and we have had some injury issues, but outside of the Mavs, Suns, and Spurs I think our team has to really be considered the 4th most likely team to win a title. We have two of the best players in the league, the best defender and possibly the best defense, a group of talented roleplayers and veterans that do their job well, a pretty solid rotation and depth when everyone is healthy, and our team is one of the best at rebounding and 3pointers. OH-and we have T-Mac and Yao Ming, those guys have been known to ball.

Currently, a healthy Rockets team can beat anyone in this league (except perhaps the Suns), and if the Rockets are gelling and streaking come playoff time everyone better watch out.
