I'd give up Head over Hayes. Though GMs occasionally make dumb mistakes, they usually do so out of desperation. At this point in the game, there doesn't seem to be TOO many desperate GMs.

we should stop trading the future away for role players that last a year or two.

I got one word for you:

We could get KG for him cause he wants to play for a winner, but due to salary cap issues, we couldn't make that trade. :)

I would rather hold on to him. He hasn't brought anything to the table this season, so I am not in the play Billy camp, like some people, but maybe he can develop a shot or learn to cut down on the turnovers in the summertime and contribute as a backup next year. I would certainly trade him if a good offer came in, but I just don't think he has much value right now (Andre Miller is a pipe dream, for example). I would offer him straight up for JJ Redick though.

Being younger than someone is not the same thing as upside. There is no way Spanoulis has more upside than a consistently excellent offensive and defensive player who is averaging 8 assists a game and has been doing so his entire career. 20 years from now, when Andre Miller is 50, Spanoulis may be a better player, but that isn't upside.

Spanoulis would a huge success if he were good as Andre Miller. I don't think he'll even be Pig Miller level good now. Thats after the Steve Nash comparisons.

Spanoulis' trade value was highest right when he signed and the first part of the season, when it appeared he over performed for the draft spot he was selected at, looking like a low 1st rounder. Gonna have to really twist the story around as to why he hasn't gotten any time this year, and why he hasn't performed too well when given time.

I would trade(or waive for a roster spot) Vspan for the following:

    Jerome James
    Danny Fortson
    Julius Hodge
    Scooby Doo
    Ryan Bowen
    Jay Williams
    Hot Sauce
    Inspector Gadget
    AO
    Penny Hardaway
    Marcus Fizer
    Optimus Prime

wow you mean we only have to wait till January 2012 to get a payoff when he finally "gets it"?

    sounds like a good investment.

Wouldn't you wish we had Nachbar now?

By the way, in the early 80's, my uncle had $2,000 in microsoft stock. It went to $20K, he sold it and bragged. Then it went so high that had he helded on to it, it would have been worth a few million.

    He doesn't brag anymore.

    Now? sure.
    2002-2003? Nope
    2003-2004? nope
    2004-2005? Nope
    2005-2006? nope
    2006 - Jan 2007? Nope

I"d rather we had Tayshaun Prince.

Either way - he's a decent backup and a good shooter, but as far as this particular rockets team goes he wouldn't provide that much since McGrady and Battier have a stranglehold on the SF minutes - for good reason.

You want to insert the guy that was traded for him and do a comparison there?

Actually why don't you compare the Rockets record in 2005 to that of New Orleans?

And why don't you compare McGrady pre-Wesley trade to post-Wesley trade.

    Anyway let's stop bickering.

Let's just imagine how SWEET it will be in 2012 when Spanoulis pays off and Obama is running for his second term in the white house.

If you think we could get Scooby Doo or Optimus Prime for VSPan your crazy. Inspector Gadget has a max contract, we'd have to give up too much more

Andre Miller is more valuable than rafer, impossible to trade him with span.

Optimus Prime would absolutely kill on this Rockets team. Imagine lining him up with Yao and T-Mac...

    C - Yao
    PF - Optimus
    SF- Battier
    SG- T-Mac
    PG- Rafer

That team is still weak at the point. But we would absolutely dominate in the paint.

Are you people not reading what I'm writing?

I didn't say trade V-Span straight up for Andre Miller. I said V-Span could be of value in A PACKAGE. Obviously if the package was, say, Head-Hayes-VSpan, then the main attraction to Philly would be Head and Hayes ( and if you want, Rafer and whoever else ).

1.) The Sixers don't want Miller for the long term, I'm telling you. Miller doesn't want to stay in a rebuilding team either, so he'll bolt for free agency when he gets the chance or demand a trade sooner or later.

2.) The Sixers want young guys that can contribute 5 years into the future. Head and Hayes and possibly V-Span ( for all you believers, which I'm not ) fits that mold they're looking for. Throw in Rafer if it helps match the cap.

3.) The Rockets can throw away their future, because our time is now. I don't care about 5 years down the line. If that means getting a player that has a good 3-4 years left in the tank, so be it. We need a good point guard, you guys are always b****ing how we don't have a good point guard. So here it is. Andre Miller, the most realistic good point guard we can possibly get. We sure as hell can't get Steve Nash, you guys sure as hell don't like Rafer. So what gives?

4.) Billy King is a bad GM. He is. What good trades has he made? How bad did he botch the Iverson deal trading him for .75 for the dollar? We traded Swift and Gay for Battier. We conned the hell out of Jerry Freakin' West. You don't think we can do so with King? King is the fourth worst GM in the league under Isiah, Mullen, and whoever runs the Hawks. Maybe YOU'D never trade Andre Miller for V-Span/Hayes/Heads ( heck, I wouldn't ), but my point is this is something Billy King would do. It can happen.

No way, by the time he finishes transforming into that truck of his, the fast break would be covered and over with.

What we need is Megatron shooting our 3's.

If Angelina Jolie = Andre Miller, Brad Pitt = Billy King, and one assumed I had the similar money as Brad Pitt ( GM= GM money )? And then you factor that Brad Pitt would have the same IQ level as Billy King?

    Yes.

That would be like you meeting a hot chick at some party, and the hot chick is going out with some dumbass who's drinking punch through his nose ( again, Billy King IQ ). You, too, would feel like you have not only a chance, but a good chance.
