Wait... he has trade value in the beginning of the thread, but the expert that you are says 'no' now? People get paid to do this valuating all day. How much time do you spend contemplating his true value? What experience with evaluating NBA talent do you have?

GMs aren't stupid. They all know what they're doing, they have the resume to prove it too, but if they make a dumb move, they made it with a GM that is even smarter than him and has even a better resume. There are also injuries, player's off-court lives and predicting the future to take into account. So, a little luck is involved as well, unless of course, you can predict the future too.

Anyway, back to the point... tell us more about your opinion when you get the time. It gives us all inspiration.

    What a r****ded statement.

Most GM's in the NBA are stupid beyond all doubt. There are numerous examples ( not even named Isiah ) that prove this. Fact is, most people could run a lot of the NBA teams and do a better job with the salary cap and you wouldn't be seeing teams like the Spurs, Suns, and Jazz ( teams with good GMS, btw ) own the league year in and year out. You wouldn't see the Hawks sucking year in and year out.

Thank you, I was having a particularly crappy day, but your psychotic faith in the intelligence of the majority league's general managers has just made my day. I will be sure to come to you for a laugh next time I need one.

I didn't know the Logo posted in here...

Just curious, when you see couples like Angelina Jolie with Brad Pitt on TV, do you say to yourself "Damn, I'm a better catch then him"

Yes the Jazz owned the league with a 3 year playoff drought they are finally breaking.

VSpan's style of play suit the suns best! Arent suns dont have any backup PG and they are not satisfied with Marcus Banks? Maybe the rockets can trade VSpan for a suns' 2007 picks?

Yeah because if there's any team that doesn't require PG's who can shoot the three, it's PHX....

Sorry, went to dinner and couldn't respond...

Jlwee and Head9...that's exactly my point. Anything we trade out of V-Span will be of plus value to us, even if it's a bag of chips because at least Bonzi gets fed. I don't like V-Span and I think he's probably a dud with the Rockets ( he might be good with a bad team ), but I also think we can use him as fool's gold to trick a few bad GM's in the league.

I know people here want to keep him around and give him chances, but barring a serious injury in the next season or ( God forbid ) this one, V-Span isn't going to be anything here. Trade him while he's still got that allusive " upside " value that bad GMs constantly trade for.

If we can package Boki with a veteran player for David Wesley a few years back, why couldn't we do the same with V-Span? This kind of stuff happens all the time in the NBA.

It's possible to trade V-Span this summer. If we keep him around another year and he stinks like this we can't trade him anymore. We need to do so now.

A three year drought is nothing. During those three years they improved to the position they're in now. What's your point? They're back aren't they? And before they were good for more than a decade. The Jazz have a great GM.

You can't compare the Jazz organization to the Hawks or Bucks. Don't be so ignorant.

    *cough*Stro Swift*cough*

No one is going to trade anything worthwhile for an undeveloped guard (and whether he's 1 or 2 is up in the air). The best the Rockets could hope for with him is trading both him and their next draft pick for a higher one (so they could perhaps get someone like Acie Law IV). Billy has very little trade value.

We do have a good GM in Carrol Dawson. If you're being sarcastic, I don't see the point.

My original point, though, would be to package him in with, say, Hayes and/or Head to get a good veteran to help. Lots of bad teams have solid veterans ( like, for the 300th time, Andre Miller ) that they're looking to trade for younger lesser-talented, but more upside guys. With a package, Billy has some worth because of his " upside " ( admit it, he has it even though he hasn't shown it this season ). Knowing human nature, we can fool someone into getting him for more than he's worth. If we can sucker someone into taking Francis/Mobley/Cato for T-Mac, anything is possible in this league.

If you're being sarcastic, I don't see the humor.

The jazz haven't owned the league by any means.
