With Miller gone and our 2009 collection of lotto busts (Thabeet, Hill, Flynn, and Twill) all having team options after this season it appears that we only have Kmart, Scola, Lowry, Moti, and Morris under contract. I assume we will take the options on Lee, Dragic, Ppat and Bud but looks like we could be in a prime cap situation to go after the Howard, Dwill, CP3 sweepstakes next year.

So Bima or any other capologists have an idea of the likelihood of offering a max deal to one of the aforementioned? (Yeah I know we're not sure about the new CBA).

No chance at any of those guys without a trade. We need to focus on outbidding Memphis for Marc Gasol.

Why wouldy ou have to trade for them if they are FA's next year. Howard is going to walk after next season, so I could see what you mean with him, but the others?

No one knows what the cap situation is until there is a new CBA.

For the 2012-13 season Martin, Scola, Lowry, Flynn and Patterson will combine for a little less than 35 million.

Courtney Lee will be a restricted FA. Budinger, Dragic will be FA's, Morris and Donatas will be under rookie contracts and Chuck and Yao could be under contract also...I'd say that's another 20-25 mil.

Thabeet, T-Will, Hill team options would likely not be picked up.

So no..unless we deal Scola, Flynn and probably let Yao and/or Chuck go.

Flynn is set to make 5 mil for 2012-13, Miller would be non-guaranteed..the trade helps us get under the luxury for 2010-11 and next season but puts us back in the boat for 2012-13

Flynn has a team option for 2012/2013 of $4,329,864

Not sure why people think he another guaranteed year when he come from the same class as Thabeet, Twill, and Hill.

Not true -- the Rockets are paying the luxury tax for the 2011 season, this trade has no effect on it.
