You're kidding, right? Without Yao, Portland does not have to compromise its defense by sending 2 players to guard Yao and probably wins the series. We never get out of first round. Yao set the tone for the series against the Lakers by scoring 28 and dominating the paint in Game 1 against the Laker Bigs. I would say that was a pretty big game. I hope tmacisback and healthy next season, but you don't need to diss our best and most committed player to do the same.
He did step up big time in Game 1 against the Blazers and even more so in Game 1 against the Lakers. He is great against single coverage on the low block. Apart from his health issues, his main problem is dealing with fronting, double teaming. He has improved considerably as a low post defender but he can't be expected to guard the Okurs,Boozers,Gasols and KG's of the world. He has not shown the ability to make adjustments. His stamina has improved, but he is not durable. His commitment to the team is unquestionable.
Im not dissing yao i just think ppl dont give tmac credit...if hes injured then hes injured...if he could play he would play
Holy ****e! I did, didn't I?!? Um... I mean... Yes. It was simply a matter of THINKING like Doc Rocket!
He pretty much confirmed McGrady has played his last game as a Rocket in another thread a few weeks ago... Sorry don't have link at the moment.
Hey guys, i don't understand what this thread is all about. Does Doc Rocket claim to be a doctor for the rockets. If so, how do we know he is not just pulling our leg?
This may have been posted before, but I can't be bothered to read through 20 pages, so to answer the original question in the thread: Apparently, the only reason Mcgrady made such a rash decision to have surgery was to avoid being traded. *This was a few months ago before the trade deadline, when he just came back from injuries and was struggling big time, barely putting up 13-14ppg*, I saw an article on the Chinese nba.com homepage saying that: Inside sources have revealed that the Rockets (Morey) have been in talks with 2-3 other teams about trading Mcgrady before the trade deadline (he wasn't playing like a 20mil/year player). When T-mac found out about this, he immediately contacted his doc in Chicago to undergo microfracture surgery, hence removing the possibility of him being traded this year. That was the reason why he didn't tell anyone about it beforehand. I was trying to get a link to the article for you guys but since it was from a few months ago, I couldn't find it anymore, but I'm 100% positive I saw it as an headline on the homepage of the Chinese nba.com a few days after t-mac announced he's going to have surgery. I'm not saying this can be treated as an legitimate source of info (chinese nba.com xD ), but it is a reasonable assumption, or a possibility why Mcgrady did something so irrational. Maybe he loves the team too much that he didn't wanna let go? I think it's a matter of personal opinion.
you sir is the problem in our society. people with no brain and talk things out of his behind. did you stop watching the rockets soon after tmac gone fishing? it seems that way to al of us. goodbye, hope to see in some other teams forum, once we traded Tmac.
Yeah, not sure if it was ever resolved, but I personally communicated with him, so for me, it was pretty clear that he is alive. DD
