He's more important come playoffs. If he pulls a hamstring or aggravates his knee befor See what the longest consecutive stretch he has played without injury this year and the last 2 years and then call me a worrier. Not total games. If he plays up until the playoffs he will be pushing his llimit before the playoffs even start. The odds are against him playing another 15 to 21 more that we may need him through the entire playoffs. If you think he isn't more prone to pulling a hamstring or having knee issues by going for his longest streak in the last 3 years then our opinions differ. I call that playing with fire and getting burnt is likely. Age doesn't reverse itself but knee and hamstring issues do tend to resurface. If we lose our seeding so what? I believe we can beat anyone with our stars all healthy. Without Paul or James playing we probably won't be able to win a best of 7 all the way to a Championship. Re3st them now and reap the rewards later.
I don't really believe that playing 5 less minutes on a Monday in March is particularly meaningful for how you perform in a playoff game in May. My perspective would be "get to the last 5 games of the season and we'll make a decision then." Until then, keep winning and keep gelling.
Paul’s drop off in production in the last few games has been because of fatigue on a aging bod due to no fault of his own...He needs rest that’s for sure and Harden has been absolutely bad in the last two games. Sure Harden stepped up in the 4th last night but he is playing through multiple issues right now and is nowhere near player he was earlier. It all started with Addams busting his shoulder followed by the trap muscle being damaged in practise and to top it off he has a lingering wrist issue. It’s crazy he is playing through all these stuff.
Once we get the highest seed we can, I wouldn't mind reducing their minutes 25-35%. Keeps them warm but not overworked.
What about a balance between a healthy dose of resting but playing reasonable minutes (still playing almost every game)? I can't imagine ppl to go for hardcore resting all the way. Should have rested them during the first 20 games early on, in hindsight those are mostly losses.
This thread is pointless because big boss said “I’m not worried” about Hardens workload. Mentioned that the Rockets monitor everything and they REST IN BETWEEN GAMES @4:10
