Borderline All-Star and I'm not kidding. I was high on Jordan weeks before he was booed when the Knicks drafted him. Hell the night after the draft I predicted he would be one of the top 5 players from the 2009 draft, and I'm sticking with my gut. He may not be the most intimidating big man—but he does swat shots, secures rebounds, and has a fabulous wingspan. Those tools alone could help him become a solid post defender if he works on his game in the offseason over the next few years. His post game is underrated. He doesn’t have the most-explosive moves, but he does get around. And like Luis Scola, he can knock down those 10- to 15-foot jumpers. Give the man a few years and he can become a very polished big man, and a great compliment to Brooks and Co. The only problem with his offensive game is that he is limited on that end and he becomes predictable after a while, which makes him only good for spurts on the court, but he excels when someone is attacking the basket namely players like Lowry, Martin and Ariza. His IQ on both is ends is also pretty low but he plays all out and is only rookie, plenty of time to get his game together. I'd love to see how he performs next season after a full summer with the Rockets staff rather than the Knicks staff, who were still moaning about missing out on Curry.
If Jordan Hill were to get a consistent jumper and do more post moves, he would be a Chris Bosh type. Problem is, he should have these already. He showed flashes of it last season.
I like him as a 4. It's as a 5 that gives me heartburn. He's still young and learning the game. At the end of the season, I hope there is a little money left over to offer in a little over min.
