Yea Morey will buy him out before he would take back Salary for a player he did not value or felt had value around the league.
I think Detroit is going to roll with a back court of Knight and Stuckey. So unless they can't play together, I don't see them shopping for a two guard.
Trade him for Chuck Hayes and fillers. With so many kids on the roster, we need some parental guidance.
Well, KM's salary was supposed to be part of the DH deal. Now it's more likely we deal him at the trade deadline next year.
Proposal: How about the Detroit pick via Charlotte + Ben Gordon for Kevin Martin + Choice of Jones or White and perhaps a 2nd round pick? Why Charlotte does it: Salary cap relief from Gordon's PO of 2013-14, which he will exercise, seeing as how he's a failed signing post Chicago. It's effectively a $13M+ purchase of a pick off of Charlotte. While it may look like they have lots of PFs as well, they don't really have anyone promising beyond Biyombo (used as a C) and,to a lesser degree, Mullens. They were hoping on Thomas but as some of you folks may know, he hasn't been panning out as planned for them. (Jordan with a bad signing? Who knew?) Why Houston does it: Basically, a good pick from a struggling team that becomes unprotected at 2015 (works great with our development timeline) and gets rid of KMart on what possibly could could result in him putting up gaudy number on a contract year and gives us a lesser SG to help us along for the long term. We also have a good chance of flipping Gordon next year for the same reason as KMart so we probably won't have to eat his entire contract. Also, it relieves us of one PFs. Why it may not work: Charlotte start and stops the negotiations with Tyrus Thomas over Ben Gordon. They're also rebuilding which means that they're probably have the same idea as we do for that pick. The salary relief, in terms of value, is questionable. Having said all that, I think it's still an option worth investigating.
If Martin leaves he isint going alone... I think he will most likely leave before deadline where his toke will get better
I don't think Martin will be here much longer with the signing of Delfino and all. Truth is, he fits much better with this line-up than the one that started last season. He has better rim protection and two way players around him now.
Martin will be dealt before the preseason begins. Don't where but with Delfino in KM is on his way out the sooner the better.
Me too. I hope for a year's supply of toothpicks for the whole team. I think dental hygiene is important and besides it just seems like a fair trade.
No. Harden is very good but not a franchise player. Lamb might be better one day or not much worse. If the Rox is contending right now for the title, sure I'd do it. But if it's slowing rebuilding in the Thunders' mode, I'd not do the trade. Take the risk of RFA and see whether Thunders match, keep your own other asset along the way!
you make it sound like chicago with rose back wouldn't think they can resign martin, they could and they would. Rentals is what feeder teams get...
I want to see him get shipped to Utah. Package Martin + one of the rooks + a futue pick (perferably a second we got from the Camby-Knicks deal) for Al Jefferson. Wait till trade deadline to package Toronto's pick and future picks to get a disgruntled Josh Smith from Atlanta to play the 3. That would be an awesome team to watch!!!
I'd be fine with the Utah trade, although I don't know why they'd be willing. Jefferson is expiring as well, and we wouldn't be giving up any valuable assets. Not sure I'd be willing to trade the Toronto pick for Smith though.
