Cardpire this issue must have struck you somehow based on your past, posting I would murder my parents or need professional help when I simply vented is pretty tasteless, offensive and shocking to me.

 

you keep on harping on that to deflect the issue, and you are putting words into my mouth. you are clearly suppressing issues and aggression that you need to address or you will snap one day in some way or another. it ain't healthy to keep all that bottled up, and this board, short of coddling you and telling you exactly what you want to hear, doesn't seem like a helpful outlet for you.

telling you to talk your issues over with a pro isn't an insult, it's sound advice. i recommend it.

I have to say, that as a student right out of college, I gave better presents to my parents and my sister than you received as a son of a parent with more means.

trust me, your posts in this thread are enough to be able to tell you that one would be a huge positive on your life.

just trying to help, but feel free to keep bringing up and misquoting the parental murder thing, which really has nothing to do with anything other than you attempting to rally the troops and pile on me for saying that. keep trying, it may eventually work.

My gifts are always 40+/person and the rent is 150/month. I'm family first and care about them. I'm not a bad person and not as spoiled as Same here seem to think.

sounds like somebody who could snap and murder his parents is different than saying he is eventually going to murder his parents.

but whatever, my thoughts on that would probably have been better kept to myself either way. especially since he is now scrambling and attempting to make that the point of contention.

I know it's just an internet thread, and I'm not saying you don't have any ground to stand on here, but If you're upset about what you get, you are doing it wrong.

Not that you did or didn't get shorted, it's just that judging others by what they give you is probably not in the best part of the spirit of the season. I would think that at this point, it's best to count your blessings and move on.

 

I'm used to not getting many gifts anymore as I'm getting older (21), and my family never really knows what to get me and the rest of my cousins around the same age. We just receive a bunch of red envelopes with $20-50 in them (I'm Chinese). My girlfriend and my sister chipped in together to get me a 32" Samsung LED. Got a little meditation fountain from a game of white elephant I played. I have a late secret Santa that I'm not doing until January. My parents pay for my car insurance throughout the year, so I never expect anything more from them. But I actually got a new full-sized bed and mattress from them. Very thankful for that because I've been sleeping on the same twin for the past decade and some.

For myself, got some plane tickets for Vegas in late January, looking forward to that. I'm looking to buy myself a new gold Michael Kors watch in the few weeks as well in a couple paychecks. Also went shopping a *****load recently for myself because I just got a second job at the mall last month.

no, quite the opposite. i just said clearly nobody on here can help you, but a professional can. said that 3 or so times.

and to be clear, i'm rooting for you to sort out your issues and not snap. being 22 years old, complaining about getting slighted on the christmas gift tip for years and freaking out that your dad is giving more attention to his gf than his grown son though...definitely behavior that should be sorted out by a pro.

once again, just my friendly advice. take it or leave it. or block me or continue to act like my one line comment is somehow the real problem at hand. whatever you want bud.
