will there be T-shirts and a victory parade if Rockets get out of the first round? Since a WCF appearance is out of the question now

i love playing portland (i wanted only the hornets over them in terms of matchups) but playing the lakers in a potential second round is just catastrophic.

not happy looking at the long run, but at least we have as good a chance as ever to get out of the first round.

Ok Im real pissed off here...Ive got the flu, Rocks lost and Terry and Finley punked us yet again...and now you guys are fighting between yourselves as to who we play...

Was settled on Portland - then see a thread saying we play Blazers has been closed (w/out explanation) , then Dada saying its Spurs, and now see a dispute in this thread.

Someone clear this **** up, im sick, pissed off and I just want to sleep, but can't until I at least know who the fk we are playing.

Best possible 1st round situation for us really.

Only downside is that we have lakers in 2nd round.

But we have to play them sometime. Losing in the 2nd round or the conf finals is the same to me.

This team is about championships ( or at least getting out of the 1st round )

If yall are worried about Portland, even if they do have homecourt, yall have problems. We have their number, and Portalnd is probably more worried about us, then they would be against any other team.

We will beat Portalnd, no doubt it. The reason this loss is huge is, now we have to face L.A. in the second round.

Home court is not that important when we play Portland. But we should really solve the problem of fronting Yao. I think the guard and power forward should try some pick and roll at the strong side when Yao is fronted. Our guard can attack the basket, pass the ball to the power forward or the open shoot. If they miss, Yao is in the position for rebounding. Please try this strategy.

I am very happy about the 1st round match-up but am VERY upset that we have the Lakers/Jazz in the second round. I would much rather be on the other side of the bracket. Unfortunately the Rockets controlled their own fate, and f'd it up big time.

Geez.. some of you are the biggest bandwagoners ever. We got a winable matchup, who cares if we gave up a loss in the REGULAR SEASON.

I'm sure the Hornets arent crying over losing to us or San Antonio either. Come playoffs, its a whole different ballgame - everyone steps it up a notch. I'll trade a loss in tonight's game for a win in the playoffs any day.

It seems there is still a chance we play the Spurs AT San Antonio. Since, if Partland wins, Portland and SA will be tied. Portland will get the 3rd seed ahead of SA because they own the tie-breaker between them... and that leaves SA at 4th and Houston at 5th.

actually looking at it this way...i'm now fine with playing the lakers in the second round!

we had to face them eventually; i don't care about 2nd round or wcf. to get to the finals we have to beat la and that still stands.

Actually I think they were 4th seed and we were 5th with HCA because of the better record. We ARE playing Portland. Because if 2 teams end up in a tie and one of them is the division winner, they win the tie breaker. SA are the SW division champs.

after all, it's not too bad to face the POR considering ...most of the teams aren't good matchups to us...lol..what does this say..

SAS is just built for playoffs, no good
    UTA..just no good
DAL..on fire and JT is on fire every game against us, no good
LAL..no one can touch them, no good
    DEN..billups ..no good

    only
    NOH
    POR
are good matchups...does that mean we are bad?..

    But anyhow

if we get HCA vs POR...we can do this is 6 if not 7

Home court or no home court, I'm more interested in the Rockets playing in Portland anytime from May 2nd-May 5th. I'll coincidentally be in Portland during that time and would love to go to a game there. What are my chances?

Do you think Rockets can win the 7th game, I don't. Rockets need finish them earlier.

Good news is, though its this year Rockets are 6-1 against Portland the last 2 years. It took a Brandon Boy heroic last second shot in overtime for Blazers to avoid getting swept.

Negative outlook, Blazers are a GOOD home team. They have the same amount of wins at home as the Rockets, Jazz, and Nuggets.

If Portland wins today's game they'll have a BETTER home record than that group. They'll have the 2nd best home record in the conference behind the Lakers.

I don't know why people are saying 6 and 7 games...we dominate the Blazers...I say 5 with HCA and 6 without.
