Or perhaps people need more than a couple weeks of good play to make up for the years of greed and laziness he has shown?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/gamelog?playerId=1017 he's been doing very well the whole season, this past month especially.
Z-Bo deserves a ton of a credit. Everybody knows he's a 20-10 player but before this year NOBODY knew he was capable of doing it efficiently and....dare I say it.....on a winning team? At 15-16 the Grizzlies aren't far behind that point!
Sad how people will jump on the bandwagon of a career loser because he's finally on a team that's hovering around .500
The grizzlies just blew out the best home team in the league by 25. Previous tonight they'd only lost like 4 games at home since last march and two of those losses came against the cavs.
I wish I agreed with this. But we're talking about the Grizzlies last five games, in which they are 4-1. If they win four out of five games, those aren't empty stats. I have done plenty of scoffing when people suggested we trade for Randolph, and I still have my doubts about him - but I'll readily acknowledge he has had a beastly week. Hell, I hope he keeps it up. It would be nice to see him turn it around and really fulfill his real potential. I don't think anybody has ever argued against his talent - only his heart. The NBA is a better product with a guy like Zach Randolph realizing his potential.
Jeez, Maybe Zach Randolph is serious about winning after all. I remember in the off-season there was a video about him learning to be determined or something like that. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................
It's perfectly fine to talk about the fact that he's having a good year. I agree, he's playing well and his team is actually competitive for a change. My comment came in response to someone who thinks we're nothing but haters for saying we want to see this kind of production on a winning team for more than 5-10 games before we start saying he's turned his career around.
I've said that years ago and people thought i was kidding. Randolph on the blks is as good as it gets and that includes everyone and anyone in the league. He has a subtleness on the blocks and with his touch and long arms, he's dangerous. People forget he had micrfracture surgery also.
I don't think anyone denies Randolph's on court ability to score. However before he always came out of shape, never bought into the system didn't play D. Even when the Blazers were resurrected he posted 22-10 numbers under Mcmillan's controlling offense, but the team as a whole did better when they traded him because he hogged the ball so much, and when he got NY not only did he get fat he stopped playing to win entirely (see his famous behind the back 3 pt airball) I don't know why he suddenly had a change of heart this season, is his contract about to expire? He might just be following Tim Thomas' footsteps
If he matured earlier you would have had z-bo roy aldridge DURANT all on the same squad....wow what could of been.
Randolph had another 20-10 game tonight and the Grizzlies are a 1 1/2 out of the 8th spot. Stop hatin' and give them some credit.
Randolph can't be the best player on the team. If i remember, the year he played with them in rebuiild, they were doing fine, but saw the chance to get a shorter contract and buy him out to hit free agency earlier. Zach is zach and he produces all the time. Go and watch the playoffs when they had to play him against dallas and he was working dallas over. The next year, they traded rasheed. I'm not saying the guy is a superstar, but he's been a consistent performer through his career. He's had his share of troubles also, but the guy produces on the blks big time. The emergence of gasol and the maturation of gay, conley, and maayo makes that team dangerous.
