Problem is simple. Police have enormous power. Their testimony counts more than a suspect. They get the benefit of the doubt, so they are allowed to do things that would horror other people but they get away with it.

Power corrupts. And the only way you are going to fix that is make sure someone is policing the police and checking that power to make sure it is used correctly. The same way congress checks the power of the president.

I think making body cameras mandatory for police to have during any kind of interaction with the public would be a first big step in that direction.

There's new life in the Baltimore unrest, things had calmed down once it started to seem like the Freddy Gray issue was a black on black crime but now there has been a police shooting where a white cop shot a black man so things should start to heat up again.

And then what, you'd expect these guys to take bullets and wrestle criminals for 43k a year?

You don't need unions to have good pay.

Regardless of one's feelings about unions, Mr. Clutch is correct. You do not need unions to receive good pay.

Mr. Clutch brought up unions as a response to the idea that police are corrupt because they have too much power and not enough supervision. Regardless of what impact they have on wages, I'd like to hear what the argument is that the existence of the fraternal order promotes corruption.

I'm not sure what you think the relevance of what Kunta Kinte chooses to do when pulled over by cops is.....

Who said I dislike cops? Did Fox News tell you liberals hate cops and that to be a good conservative you need to claim to love cops but hate their associations?

Anybody know if the break up police unions was a Limbaugh talking point yesterday?

You don't see the relevance and or it's not relevant to you because you're not Black...

And because the voluntary actions of one random person are just that. If there was one random white guy who says that he jumps out of his car and gets down on the ground and spreads his cheeks every time a cop pulled him over it wouldn't be any more valid.

Like I said... It's not relevant to you because you're white, but amongst the Black community (and probably the Hispanic community as well) what he said is not a random statement. It's only random to you because you're just now hearing it said. That was one of the 1st lessons I received when I 1st started driving and that was when the 1st Bush was in office.

Ah, gotcha, just because you share his paranoia makes you think that it is a universal. That's fine, I would expect someone like you to think like that.

Won't argue with you about the so called paranoia... Because like I said, you're white and that's a random statement amongst the Black community. When you're not around Black folks much it's hard for you to make a claim on what they talk about.

Excuse me... I meant not a random statement amongst the Black community (and probably in the Hispanic community as well).
