I think there are about 3 or 4 posters here who fully support the rioters and looters and suggest that things like that should happen more often. Most of the rest have been sane though.

Yeah it's gonna be hard rebuilding the Knicks after the Melo era but what does that have to do with Baltimore?

Hey man. Don't sweat it. I shouldn't have jumped on you. I guess it was me on my rag. These riots always get on me upset. I understand the frustrations, but I don't understand tearing up other peoples stuff. My mom taught me at a young age not to destroy other peoples' property (because as a small FT, I would jack up my bros toys). Thanks for the prayers and kind words.

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake apparently ordered the police to stand down Monday night as the riots broke out, which would explain why only a few dozen people were arrested.

    Wow.

If I'm a cop in Baltimore, I'd quit. At best, truly reprehensible leadership from the mayor. At worst, aiding criminal activity.

2 sides of the same coin.
Why do we even listen to the media? They divide us.
We're all slaves just trying to get into the house.
This isn't a race issue underneath the veil. This isn't even a small potatoes money issue.
The sooner we accept this, truly accept this, the sooner we'll be able to move forward together against the puppeteers.(marginalize me if you want, but deep down we all know something isn't right and we certainly aren't free.)

Of course. She said she gave them space to destroy, and she also said she provided protection to them from the cars and the things that were going on. Why would this be a surprise?

    That mayor is looney.

Cops aren't the brightest people around. What other jobs do you think they could get?

She was waiting for her newphews to show up with her flat screen and Gucci handbags before putting the curfew in place. 24 hours later....curfew. Coincidence?

    Let's apply Occam's razor here.

What is a more reasonable cause of the predicament that African Americans face today with rampant poverty, lack of education and crime?

    1. 40-50 years of Democrats running major cities

    2. 300 years of slavery where slaves were not allowed to be educated at all in addition with another 100 years where in many regions Blacks were segregated to schools that received as little as 5% of the funding as a traditional non-segregated school or a school where Blacks were barred?

Cops in Baltimore have it tough.

I wouldn't want to be a cop out there.

Anyway this is a non story. Riots are going to happen and will continue to happen until people feel of a certain group feel justified

I don't know why I let myself get drawn back into this.

Where's the part where they take accountability for their education in today's day and age. I know, according to you, it will take more than a lifetime to overcome, but when will people in general stop blaming others for the problems they may have inherited and try to end the cycle.

I'm not making a claim about what should be done, but rather quelling an assertion that "Democrats did it".

all of these urban hellscapes have been controlled by Democrats for decades

if the problem is policies and institutions, they created them

If Democrats had total control of all policies of that area it would be fair to say that. However electing a representative doesn't give that party total control over that district. There are state and federal policies at play here as well.

On an unrelated note, I love the parent that saw her son out with the looters on TV and went outside to knock some sense into the kid. That was hilarious. Good for her.

It is interesting that the widespread vandalism and looting only seem to be happening in cities that have local politicians that sympathize with the looters/vandals who allow things to get out of hand.

I highly doubt that we'd have these problems in cities run by people who would take a hard nosed stance with those criminals, giving the local police and national guard the ROE needed to stop the unlawful assemblies in its infancy before they turn into all out riots.
