Watched about 30 seconds of King's video post because I had never heard of this guy before, figured he was a comedian actually. I prefer my musical artists to have an ounce of talent, wouldn't listen to anything he put out again.

Don't know any of the people involved but if you give a bad rating on social media why are you immune from a response from the person your talking about ? Don't criticize if you can't take a rebuttal.

That wasn't a rebuttal. It was a condescending, patronizing offensive response. Totally uncalled for.

That fan did NOT go "there" in the observation. HE escalated it by rubbing his obvious mistake "Peace out Dallas" right back in the fan's face. Seems he had some axe to grind with reviewers building up for a while and took on probably an easy target

He says people arent capable of "receiving the TRUTH", but then contradicts HIMSELF showing its HE couldnt handle an honest assessment. Not from some random cheesy music lover but from a LONGTIME fan!

Cant find at defense of Matisyahu at all. FOR SURE artists have a right to retort back to ALL comments. But his execution was all wrong.

I am in the medical field, but my hours have calmed way down.

Point is, I would never talk to somebody like that if they criticized me - much less, if they were paying me money for me to do something I loved for a living. That's absurd. My job is in no way more important than anyone else's.

I didn't say it was a good comeback. But yeah, of course it's uncalled for. The review was uncalled for. Most people's posts in a social media setting is uncalled for, but when you do it, you should understand that someone will disagree with you and there is a high likely hood it won't be all that pleasant or well thought out (see the D&D)

Her review wasn't even that bad. She's been to four of his concerts, so she supports his artistry and is entitled to her opinion that this was his worst performance. But she probably doesn't write that review if he didn't sign off with the wrong city.

He should've said that they have creative differences regarding this performance and maybe apologize that she didn't like it, and he should definitely apologize for saying the wrong city instead of doubling down on his mistake.

Her review was uncalled for? Because she said this was the "worse" performance she'd seen him give, and because he didn't get the city right? I mean gotdamn, people can't even say that now.

We must not acknowledge that sometimes some people do things better than other times. That's uncalled for.

    Reminds me of Harrison Bergeron.

Well I'd like Matisyahu to know that in college I liked a couple of his songs (King without a Crown is a classic of that era of indie College stuff), and saw him in Austin in 06 I believe, but I ripped his first album illegally and feel no remorse, and don't find his music good enough from an album perspective to ever purchase anything of his...

And I'm assuming my fan level is probably 95% of the fans that would think about going to his shows now. So he's going to be living off of the "I liked that one song in college" crowd who just want to see him put on a half ass show on the weekend when they need their live music fix and feel some college nostalgia.

So if he wants to start half assing his shows and is burnt out on touring then he probably needs to find a new line of work. If that piece of revealing news is too much for him to handle where he needs to throw insults about my kids, and my intellect than I feel sorry for him on as he throws a Royce White level pitty party.

I understand the frustration from someone who is being forced out of the music business or being forced to be a touring tile capsule juke box of the former hits band of yesterday at small clubs/bars, but reality is a b****, and it happens to all of us. I myself used to play in bands and had a span of about 10 years in my 20's DJ'ing and producing EDM before it became the nonsense cookie cutter EDM that everyone is into now. Now I have to either except and have fun doing weddings, and corporate events along with a couple friend parties, or move on, and sell the decks. I'm not going to punch the bride at a Wedding I'm DJ'ing because I can't handle the fact that I'm doing weddings now.

You had your moment Matisyahu... either enjoy the touring life and embrace this next phase of being essentially a cover band of yourself from a decade ago for nostalgia or move on to another career if you can't handle that.

I'm a Matisyahu fan and him having a freakout doesn't really change that. There are a lot of artist out there how have fragile personalities and it's unfortunate he's one.

I was at a Flogging Molly show in St. Paul and Dave King, the lead singer, kept on referring to the place as Minneapolis. Even after people in the audience corrected he kept on doing it and seemed to enjoy that he was getting some people riled that he was calling St. Paul Minneapolis.

I've met Matis at SXSW a few years ago. He was pretty chill and stood around after the show to talk with all of us.
