So, should an effective Rocket Defense be to do the offense in reverse?

Yeah I believe we've allowed .350 or below from 3PT range in every game since the Utah debacle

Its also the OTHER inverse of FREE throws. As in get free throws/LIMIT free throws. Spurs and Phil Jackson defenses intentionally did NOT foul when they didn't need to. That's easier said than done but makes sense to defend for missed shot instead of bailing out opponent giving them extra free throws.

Or we could just do the reverse and be like the Jerry Sloan Jazz, hack the **** out of everyone on every play and dare the refs to call it. That might actually solve some problems for this unit.

Definitely. Allow as many low-percentage mid-range shots as possible. When we'd play the Lakers the gameplan would basically be let Kobe shoot deep mid-range shots all day when Morey came along

Haha yup, was thinking same thing. Also James Harden is apparently an all world "decelerator"...

Haha, this became a history of basketball defense thread. Anyone actually know every rule included in the Jordan rules made by the champion Pistons? Don't answer that unless you actually know. Don't guess. I already have a guess.

Yes. Run three point shooters off the 3-pt line and channel them to a shot blocking rim protector. Force
the least efficient shot in the game (the contested mid-range shot). 2016/17 shot blocking...
Cavs: Tristan/Bird-Man.......others to a lesser extent.
Warriors: ?? Javale MeGee is being incorporated into team scheme shot blocker. Pachulia is not a shot
blocker. Most rim protection is by Durant & Draymond. Having to play so much help defense on the
interior worked against most of their players offensively vs the Rockets in a game earlier this yr.
They are trying to rectify that by coaching up Javale MeGee. I don't see them trading for inside presence anymore.
    Utah: set
    Thunder: set
    Grizz: set
    Blazers: need help
Clippers: DeAndre Jordan.......others to a lesser extent.
Spurs: Gasol & LMA are not know for rim protecting shot blocking; but they force players to alter paths
to the rim.....that's when Kawhi, Ginobli, Simmons, Danny Green,Lee get a beat or angle on you and strip
the ball from you/get a block on the way up. Dedmon is coming on strong lately.

Rockets: Capela & Harrell.....others to a lesser extent. I feel one more shot blocker from the center position
would improve the Rockets perimeter defense and put "us" over the top. IMHO.

Added in edit later: In that Dec 1st game from 3: Klay 3x13, Curry 4x13, DGreen 0x2, Durant 3x11.
That's 10x39=26%. They hope w/more MeGee & less effort defensively needed interiorly by their
shooters.....that they will shoot better.......next meetings. I would like to note that some of those misses were due to Rockets contesting shots as well.

I love that the Warriors believe in McGee, he's so easy to manipulate on offense. That team is the one reason I hope we find a solution to the DMo contract. Putting stretch 4s and 5s out there together completely frees the paint. I know Durant is supposed to be a defensive beast, but let's see how good his stamina is if he's ask to defend the paint 100 times in a series. Dude will go soft. Plus, with Clint and DMo going at him, McGee's a 6 foul man waiting to exit the game. Bring em' on, we're ready this year!

I know. MeGee is always, "Lost in Space." The media keeps saying he is doing Great right now. Idk
I don't really follow the Warriors. I did see the end of Warriors @ Pels.....no MeGee at the end.
