Why sloppy seconds if Bush should have never been in the running in the first place? It sounds to me like VY got cheated twice.
Bush gets stripped of his college accolades. That sucks, but he's laughing all the way to the bank right now. And I have a feeling that VY doesn't mind sloppy seconds.
Does anyone else think that had Reggie Bush lived up to the hype, we'd have never heard about this? The NFL seems to be really good at making problems with their stars go away. (note: Ray Lewis) If Reggie Bush was still being looked at as the NFL's next great superstar, I'd bet that this would get shoved under the rug and New Era would have been paid hush money from unknown sources.
But not to the point where the NFL would try to sweep this under the rug. I'm guessing the NFL really doesn't care all that much.
I think the NFL did as much as they could in handling this one. A lot of it broke before the draft and probably before they could get a handle on it.
and the texans passed on Bush... do you think they were not really interested in him? Reggie deserves this.
I've always wondered how much it affected their decision. Personally, I think it might have been the tipping point in taking Mario instead (not the unsignable stuff, which I don't believe)
