That's what happens when you have a franchise player.

Hopefully the Rockets will return the favor for most of this decade. Sports are a cycle...and hopefully something big happens to where the Rockets are the best team in Texas again and returning the favor.

The Rockets were better than than the Mavs and the Spurs during the Hakeem Olajuwon era. Did you expect the Rockets to be better than both franchises forever? What goes around comes around.

We haven't gone more than 5 yrs in a row without making the playoffs, since 1970.

Dallas went 10 years in a row without a playoff appearance, 12 years with only 1 playoff appearance, a loss in the first round.

Spurs were good, got lucky the best year possible, and then became good again.

    Quit crying.

Also I think more people here hate the Jazz more than the Spurs. I've seen some folk here rooting for the Spurs...

I've never seen a rocket fan root for the Jazz in the playoffs and I hope I never do.

Funny what happens when your stars don't get injured. Remember when Dallas went 0-7 without Dirk last year, losing to teams like Indiana and Toronto during the streak?

    This logic is laughable.

It is a cycle, but when management constantly handicaps itself with bad decisions, mixed with a bitter dose of bad luck, we'll be waiting a great many years for the stars to shine for the rockets again. I don't see us winning the lottery ever, and if we do, that guy we pick will probably be injury-prone anyway.

I'm assuming he means McGrady and Yao Ming. I understand it was a year ago that Yao retired, but I would think it would take way more than a year to become relevant after an injury like that, nevermind the fact we had two significant injuries. This thread takes way more years into account than Morey has been here anyway. We have a ton of assets and great flexibility. Not mention one of the youngest teams in the league, while staying competitive. What you want bad young players? Is that what rebuilding is? This offseason should be very interesting.

Seriously are you even a Rockets fan? Why do you spend so much energy hating on the franchise? If you can't deal with it then just leave already....

Because everyone that is not optimistic should leave the town or the BBS?
Pointing out that we don't have healthy stars for couple of years?
Grow a thick skin...... telling people to leave is not a solution to the problems either.....I got it.... People trying to look for reasons, excuses...

Definition of hating FYI if I'd do that when the team is playing well, Top 5 in the West....
I am giving the team props for hanging in there for 40 good games, they have a flat tire.... that is obvious.... no need to cover it.

We've had a franchise every year for that last 11+ years...
    You may remember these players:

    Steve Francis 99-04
    Yao Ming 02-11
    Tmac 04-10
