LOL @ all the people calling this post a Jinx. I'm sure LeBron logged on and read this post and it was the final deciding factor to sign with the Knicks! Why isn't media coverage all over this???

Or we can 'sign & trade' JCDenton to the Jazz fanboard. They deserve each other.

Looks like our picks may still be worth a darn, I just posted this in the Dish...

alanhahn Multiple sources are telling Newsday that LeBron James has decided to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. The new Big Three is here

Don't lie, everyone can see that I said $13-$14 million. That's how much money we're giving to Jared Jeffries.

The end of the season has arrived and it appears that I was wrong about Kevin Martin. At first I was quite shocked because my predictions never fail to come true. Once I came to grips with this though, I engaged in self reflection and realized that even the best statisticians are wrong sometimes due to outliers, or that perhaps I made a rounding or clerical error along the way. So in an attempt to better myself, I went back to review my calculations so that this never, ever happens again. I was quite shocked to discover that, in fact, I had not performed any calculations at all on this topic.

This was highly irregular so I struggled to recall what had happened, and then I remembered that shortly before I made my prediction, the Rockets had traded my two favorite players and I was extremely upset about it. My prediction that Kevin Martin would shoot less than 40% turned out to be more of an emotional guess than the results of detailed analysis. Yet as a statistical genius I know that emotion should never be involved. Statistics should be all detail, no emotion. This was a critical error that I will never make again.

However, I am a man of my word and I stand utterly defeated by HtownBBall. For a time it seemed as if Kevin Martin would not be able to finish the season, granting me victory. But then he came riding in on a stallion like Aragorn and the warrior kings of old, battling through injuries to shoot 42.9%. How cruel fate can be.

So it would seem that I must retire. However, if HtownBBall and everyone else would accept my humble apologies, I would pledge to dedicate myself to my craft in the offseason, studying extensively so that something like this never, ever happens again. There is still so much ground to cover, delightful wonders such as pie charts and bar graphs, that it would be a shame to waste my talents. But ultimately if the wounds are too deep and I can't be forgiven, I would at least ask that I be allowed to retire gracefully of my own free will rather than being banned, so that at least I could still read the forum from time to time.

Come on, Felton won't be the difference between the 7th and 11th seed.

This is assuming they don't get LeBron of course.

I'm makin a strong comeback, just like when we were down 3-1 to the Suns and Mario Elie drilled that corner 3. We won the title that year by the way. But that's nothing compared to the Comprehensive Study I have in the works.

If miami gets wade, lbj, and bosh the league is going to suck. They will win the championship like every year.

JC Denton would have our team looking like Detroit. Thank the heavens for intelligent basketball operations from our Rockets Brass...

It doesn't always work that way, remember Shaq, Kobe, Payton and Malone?

    Or closer to home.

    Hakeem, Clyde and Charles?

Chemistry is more important than individual talent.

Wade and Lebron need the ball in their hands.....there is only one ball.

C'mon man. Shaq, Kobe, Payton and Malone went to the Finals and probably would have beaten the Pistons if Malone's knee doesn't give out.

Hakeem, Clyde and Charles were in the twilights of their careers, but still won 57 regular season games, and were a moving screen away from forcing a Game 7 in the WCFs. If they had pulled it out in Game 7, they would have had as good a chance as anyone to unseat the Bulls.

If your point is that nothing's guaranteed, you're right. But these guys' window of opportunity would be open for a long, long time. And barring a catastrophic injury, there's no question that they'd be contending for a title every year.

they dont even make it to the finals if cassell back doesnt give out in the WCF

really depends on who miami can get after they get their contracts i dont think there will be enough players willing to sign for the vet min to play there with them. there will be some but not a whole lot, in the end its still about money to everyone including the old guys.

it will be fun to watch all 3, i dont think its going to work out necessarily since there is still just 1 basketball, but will be fun

    Talent trumps everything.

Lets look at the two best teams:
lakers - 2 superstars 3 really good players
celtics - 2 superstar 2 all stars 3-4 really good players

Bron and Bosh are in their prime and wade should be in his prime for next few years.

There shouldn't be comparisons to those old dream teams because Wade, Lebron and Bosh are currently in their prime and were close friends before this Free Agency madness. Their chemistry is high and they already played together many times.

My point was simply that they were in serious contention for the title before their third best player went down with an injury.

I'd much rather this happen than Lebron to Knicks.
