The value of the picks IS soaring. The question isn't whether the Knicks are going to be better than last year. The questions is whether they are better than they were EXPECTED to be. As long as they have a shot at LeBron, the value of the picks remains elevated. If that shot disappears, the value of the picks skyrockets
We've been talking a lot about whether or not the Knicks will be better than worse than they were last season, but what we haven't talked about is the other major change. The Eastern Conference is looking a lot tougher. The Bulls are improved by adding Boozer. Who knows what else they may pull off. I think that's going to be a very solid team. Miami should be much improved depending on how they fill in their roster. Milwaukee made some good moves to strengthen their team. Even teams that haven't done well in free agency like the Nets and Wizards should be improved because of the contributions of Wall and Favors. If the Nets add a guy like David Lee, I expect they'll be much improved. The Cavs will still be tough. The Celtics will still be tough. The Magic will still be tough. Seriously, even if New York is as good as they were last year, they should have a worse record. If they're not as good? They could easily drop 10-15 games.
if the knicks get lebron they will have a top 4 record in the league, making those picks irrelevant unless your team is really impressed by adding basically a 2nd round pick.
Do you understand how TRADE works? I didn't say sign and trade for precisely that reason. Sign and trade doesn't work because none of the good free agents want Houston. We needed to trade Tmac for a player before the deadline so that he would have been forced to come here against his will. Instead we traded Carl Landry for a player who is not as good as Landry, and basically got the knicks "picks" for taking on the salary of Jared Jeffries for two years. I say "picks" because the swap will not be used if Lebron goes to NY. It's gone, worthless. The other will be a late first rounder worth a couple million cash. Morey bet against NY, and it looks like he lost if the Lebron rumors are true.
Be careful...telling the truth here is "trolling" when things are going against the Rox. We basically just bought Jordan Hill and borderline 2nd rounder for $13-14 million.
Kevin Martin is a borderline 2nd rounder? The guy who averages 20ppg on very efficient shooting? Maybe you mistyped, he is borderline all star. DD
This douche comes back to the board when the knicks picks might be worthless...lmaoooo. Dude, you lost in april. Smarten up, and take your L.
We traded Carl Landry for K-brick. We took on Jared Jeffries salary in exchange for a worthless swap, a first round pick probably worse than a early second rounder because it means guaranteed salary for a marginal player, and Jordan hill. Get your facts right.
My facts are straight, Jordan Hill was the 8th pick, a good upside PF, Kevin Martin is a very efficient scoring wing player. And though I loved Carl Landry, he was an undersized scoring PF, we had a better option in Scola. DD
Kevin Martin was leading scorer on the team. Leading freethrow shooter in percentage and taken and made. Hill was a top 1st round pick. We get to swap a Knicks pick if Lebron doesnt sogn that could be top lottery pick at least higher than the 14th pick like we just used on Patrick Patterson this year. We get the next years Knicks pick after that when Amare will surely be injured by then and no Lebron on his team and it could be atop 5 pick add to our pick there and Martin and a developed Jordan Hill a top 1st round pick. All from the Knicks. If it doesnt turn out that way? Insert their pick still and Kevin Martin and Hill for Landry a role player who came off the bench for us.

All for a role player off our bench. Who if we had? Couldnt sign with Scola also here since his contract was also coming up.
I can't believe Ifeel compelled to waste my time replying to your post. 1) Morey is a Moron and you're the Official Clutchfans Statistical Genius (that stated Kevin Martin would finish <40%FG ??? 2) Who in the right mind would want JJohnson (29) and Amare (microfracture and eye, and with mileage as a prep-to-pro) for those CONTRACTS via sign-and-trade??? 3) Lebron to NY and Bosh to Miami (to be Wade's lap dog) is just life, not like Cleveland and Toronto were willing to trade them to the Rockets at the trade deadline last season 4) Landry at best is on-par with K-Mart, but a trade to balance position need 5) Philly didn't want to trade Iggy/Dalembert to us for T-Mac -> they eventually went for a young center in Hawes for Dalembert and still kept Iggy. Trolling is fine, just make it intelligent!
No, you made a mistake. You thought I was talking about Kevin Martin when it was very clear I was talking about our soon to be very crappy draft pick from NY. Someone else even already pointed this out. Now you're doubling down and making yourself look even more foolish.
