Playoffs: - Orlando - Cleveland (with Lebron) - Miami - Atlanta (same team) - Milwaukee (improved) - Boston (older, but still a playoff team) Then you have: Charlotte, New Jersey, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Washington, Indiana and Detroit. Surely they can win ten more games (39-40) and fight for the last playoff spot.
The Knicks will be a playoff team barring injury. Amare is a very good scorer and people have trouble defending against D'antoni's offense in the regular season.
I think that without another great player or at least a good point guard, the Knicks are a bottom 10 team. Amare is great when he can play off someone else, and just okay when he's the man. So who should we be hoping for in the draft next year? I'm thinking Perry Jones. (It's never too early.)
they didn't have problems defending it during last year's regular season. Amare Stoudemire? as the Knicks savior? LOL they have 5 or 6 guys on contract right now. and David Lee will probably be gone next. the Knicks are going to continue to be a joke.
The Knicks were a horror show last year because they couldn't keep anyone from scoring on them, and Lee swapped out for Amare makes them even worse. They need a minor miracle to keep from being a bottom 5 team.
I never hope for players to get hurt, but Amare does have a history, and if he goes down, they're toast.
They still have 16 million or so to use, right? Donnie Walsh is a better GM than Isiah Thomas, so I would think they can use that money wisely and improve the team. Take last year's roster, add Amare and a couple other solid pieces, and they should win somewhere around 40 games I think. Hopefully they still miss the playoffs; I think it will be close.
I think the pick is #1 overall protected, so I hope he does play most of the year. They'd be the worst team in the league without him.
Don't worry, they will resign Tmac to the max and he'll return to elite form and lead them to 60, maybe 70 wins.
Amare makes them WORSE! And the better he plays (read: ballhogging) the worse they will be. Just wait til his thundercloud settles over the locker room after a 5-15 start.
So let me get this straight, we get the Knick's 1st round picks for the next two years, as long as they are not the #1 pick? And if it is the #1 pick then what? NY just takes it back?
Next years draft pick is a swap for our pick. If their pick is higher than ours we get nothing. If they win the lotto and pick #1 I cant remember what we get but we don't get the pick. In 2012 Their pick is top 5 protected. If they get a pick 1-5 we get second rounders I think.
