So, no tax returns processed before 1/30 or just Free-file?

I always just use the irs.gov link to find a way to file my taxes for free each year. This year the link to the free sites is disabled until 1/30/2013. Anyone else running in to this or know a work around?

The IRS isn't processing returns until the 30th this year due to the late nature of the fiscal cliff bill. So you'll run into the same problem anywhere else. As bobrek said, it's just 2 days away.

You can do your taxes the manual way if you don't have all these deductions and extra schedules, and just do them by mail. Be ahead of the game, sort of.

I did my taxes by TurboTax and got an email (Jan. 24th) saying that the IRS has accepted my return early but wont begin processing returns until the 30th.

email:

Congratulations! TurboTax was able to have your return accepted early by the IRS. You're finished with your taxes.
Even though you've been accepted early, please note that the IRS does not begin processing refunds until January 30.
