Yeah, but how many years did it take for Marbury to finally start playing the position the way it should be played? That's the same situation you have with Francis now. Maybe JVG can get through to him as Johnson finally got through to Marbury. My point here is that Nash plays the position better than both of them but he's not athletically better. It's Nash's solid play at the point that's a key factor in Dallas' showing demonstrable improvement year after year while in Houston, Rocket fans are still waiting for some improvement - any improvement from their veterans like Francis, Mobley, Griffin and Taylor.
As much as I admire Nas the argument that Nash is better than Francis because the latter is more athletic and thus doesn't use his use brain as well as the former is flawed. I bet Nash wouldn't mind being half the athlete of Francis.. Overall, Nash is better fit for the Mavs and exels in many aspects of game in which Francis is less than adequate. However, there is no way in the world Nash can take the burden and role of leading the team that Francis has been instructed to do.. This is one of the reason why I admire Franchise. Whether he is a good leader or not is matter of opinion but the fact that he is sticking out his neck and tries to take the responsibility of being leader is admirable.
