I was playing a pick up game yesterday and we had a great PG on our team. Everyone was hitting open shots and cutting and getting easy layups and fast breaks. We won 6 games in a row and then our PG had to leave. We picked up this black dude who had some mad handles and speed but we lost our last game to a crappier team because this guy just kept on forcing bad shots. My whole team ended up standing around cause he wouldnt pass the rock. I imagine this was how its like for the Rockets to play with Brooks..
In basketball Chemistry is a HUGE factor and I don't think Brooks gives us that Chemistry

Somehow, Brooks worked well with Battier and Artest.

It doesn't seem to be working with Martin. Martin is also a chucker and not much of a passer, maybe that's why?

Count me in as one of those that isn't going to turn on Brooks just because we're 0-3. DD isn't alone.

You guys are the ones embarrassing yourselves, drowning in negativity.

Is Brooks the problem or is it Martin?

Personally, I want one of them gone.

I have an emotional attachment to Brooks so I'd rather have Martin go.

Well when your star player is in and out of the lineup and they have severe defensive lapses, what do you expect?

Having a coach whose hard headed and doesn't play guys who can win games doesn't help either.

I don't think one is "THE" problem. I just don't think they work well together.

Honestly, they are very similar- very good scorers who don't do much of anything else well. Brooks is obviously the better ball handler while Kevin is overall the better scorer, but neither can pass, rebound, or play D very well.

Maybe they need different players around them. But even with Hayes and Battier in there, the D is still atrocious, and the decision making in crunch time has faltered.

He is playing our best players. You can't blame the losses on having Hill on the bench. Hill hasn't proven anything at this level.

I would keep Martin over Brooks.

I think Martin is a better defender and also better at creating a shot for himself. As well, Martin is bigger and can get the floater or the pull up midrange jumper. Brooks has very little mid range game.

I still think they could work together, but they need a small forward along side them that is either an elite defender or someone like Carmelo and then the Rockets just defend on funneling everything to Yao and outscoring their opposition.

    BS!

Rick has his favorites and you know it.

You can't tell me that Hill's defense is worse than Millers.

I'm tired of the layup drills when Yao is on the bench.

So he's not playing Scola, Martin, Brooks, and Yao? Because those are our 4 best players.

If we are counting on Jordan freaking Hill to win games for us, we are in trouble. The guy couldn't crack the rotation of the New York freaking Knicks!

Because D'Antoni doesn't play players who play defense!

    We need defense bro!

We are screwed if we have to continually have to outscore the opponents.

yea thats true.. I think Chemistry is a huge underrated factor in basketball that cant seen on any stat sheet. We dont have the right chemistry now. I guess its not all on brooks since martin and brooks seem to be a crappy combo right now.. Throw in yao's 24 min limit and we have zero chemistry..

The Brooks hate is r****ded, really is. After everything he did for the rockets last season, and there has been 3 games so far...

Not this year, no, but few players are NBA ready. Hill and Patterson need minutes, and we're letting our assets diminish in value if we don't develop them.

I don't hate Brooks. I just think he needs to come off the bench as a spark plug. I certainly wouldn't offer him a big payday. Not based on what I've seen.

Brooks doesn't deserve the hate. He was the PG for that awesome team that pushed the Lakers in the 2nd round, wasn't he?

But I am growing more skeptical every day of this Brooks-Martin combo.
