So McHale thinks our bench can overcome a 17 point deficit against Memphis' starters?

That's the ****ing problem. This **** has happened before. ****, they had a 7 game ( I think it was 7 ) a while back, the offense was ****, defense was worse and he didn't do anything. Hell, that was against some terrible teams. Literally the furthest he went was sitting lin/asik. Why the **** would you try and send a message now instead of midway through the season?

I guess all who question McHale tonight assume the starters would have given us a better chance to win. On this night, I don't think the starters would have improved things. They were getting shredded by Randolph, Gasol, Conley, each. Three different players were shredding them at the same time.

if you have no system you need energy to cover it up.
maybe it's time to build a system and not expect energy to cover the missing plays.

Dude, you have stop with this ****. McHale isn't popavich, the rockets aren't the spurs, they don't have an outstanding bench and offensive systems. Or a very good defense. It doesn't work that way.

Keith Smart could pull the same ****, it doesn't mean he's a good coach ( he's **** btw ) or that it was the right decision ( it wasn't ). Its great that our bench outplayed theirs and that our bench frontcourt did a bit better against gasol/randolph. Conley and bayless still did whatever they wanted despite our "superbench". Keeping the starters out was a mistake you could explain away in the middle of the season, not when your fighting for a spot in the playoffs.

Yup, the guy made absolutely no substitutions, played the same unit to the ground. They were clearly gassed towards the end.

Again, use some ****ing logic. Their bench and coach are much, much better than ours. The spurs have proven they can beat pretty much anyone with an absolutely depleted ****ing lineup. We have now compared the rockets to the spurs and Lakers, and our coach to Phil Jackson and Greg popavich. Keep it up clutchfans, with your abundance of basketball knowledge.

The bench has to be playing a lot better than the starters to bench them...did that happen at the end of any of the games during the 7 game losing streak?

You want him to just randomly bench them and send the most confusing message ever?

The analysts all agreed on NBATV that the benching was probably smart due to the matchup tomorrow against the Clippers and heading into the playoffs.

Well, I am pretty used to seeing Lin on the bench during 4Q anyway...

don't know anyone pay attention on a couple tv snapshots which focused on harden, parsons, and lin during 4th qt. i was watching the game with league pass. this time, the game was broadcasted by home team, memphis.

    1) whisper btw parson and lin, often with chuckling. no upset and no interest at all.

    2) harden didn't want to stand up during one timeout by mchale. someone had to pull him up. it looks to me he was not happy.

    3) harden kept talking someone behind him. seems like someone tried to be a peacemaker.

it is very troublesome. we may not see any storm before the season ends. it is tough not to think about the relationship btw the coach and players. i am not here to stir up something. if you don't believe what i said, go ahead to watch the 4th qt of the game from league pass. i can't remember the exact time stamp of these scenes.

I understand what McHale was doing in terms of sending a message to the team, but I really wish he would have given a chance to the some of the starters. Parsons played well and I wish he put in Asik when Memphis countered our run with Gasol and Randolph. I think Smith and Asik would have been better in the fourth than Smith and Robinson; we couldn't get a rebound multiple times and Conley was able to get into the paint with a couple minutes left. And overall, the bench guys ran out of steam with 3-4 minutes left.

Asik's rebounds are going for naught if he's going to be clumsy on the lay ups. If he's right there at the basket, just put it in... he's tall enough.

I saw this one and wrote a dialogue about it...Parsons was probably just noting the view Lin's been having from the bench in the final stretches of games.

I think we all wish that Asik would finish better around the rim and frankly, JUST DUNK THE DANG BALL, but we all knew that any offense he gives us is pretty much a bonus. And some of the times it is the passers fault for trying to bounce pass it to him, which has been a mistake since the start of the season. I rather see a lob pass to him or taking the shot and hoping he grads the offensive board. And it's better that we get defensive board, thus more opportunities for us to score than to give up offensive boards and more chanced for them to score and use clock against us. There were at least two processions that could have ended soon for the Grizz if we could have grabbed a rebound.

Why not rest them for the next game. They obviously shut our game plan down.
