What baffles me is, up until this season, KT had a decent mid-range jumper. Hes just off this season and my guess would be, he has lost confidence in his jumper and thats why we see him take so many ill-advised drives. Im hoping as the season progresses, hell rediscover his jump shot and well see less of the trade KT posts.

JLB, don't you feel kinda dirty saying you don't think Kenny is a black hole....;)

I agree codell. Something is awry with the jumper, and something is strange with Maurice's, too. I just cannot fathom Maurice losing his touch. These two will rebound.

There's some speculation for ya, grounded in a little history.

JLB, I'm still in the mode that we I see KT receive an open 15' footer, I'm thinking...take it!! What I want is more quick decision. Either shoot the open J (leave the 20 footer alone until you get the 15'er back), penetrate or pass. I don't want KT waiting on double teams anymore, although I can't blame any PF looking from the low block. I have nothing against that, in manageable batches.

    Fair enough, hp.

    **** happens. ;)

I'll be keeping a close eye on KT next time around. Hopefully it won't take too long... God knows I can't stand watching the Knicks, Celtics and Raptors anymore.

Just to wrap this up: you guys are talking about 8 shots. It's not the 8 shots themselves, it's the fact that those shots don't seem to come from within the flow of the offense. No one expects the guy to look for an assist if he is wide open, for instance. It's just that he seems to have tunnel vision, and not the good kind of. You might argue that Jordan had tunnel vision too, but he had the talent to make that scorer's mentality work.

KT just need to be preached the right way, much the way Moochie seems to have, judging by last night.

    Thanos,

Thats the thing. As a team, the majority of our shots, from Francis, to KT, to Mobley to Moochie dont seem to come in the flow of the offense. So its unfair sometimes to pin point KT as the culprit. Its a team wide problem.

    HP,

I really started to thing about why KT is struggling with his jumper. This season, he was put at the 3 exclusively to start out and perhaps he was not comfortable being that far out on the floor and hence, all the drives. I think being back at the 4, where he is comfortable will help is jumper come around. KT has never been the best shooter from 15-20, but we usually didnt wince when he took those shots.

The worst thing for KT, and the team, would be for Rudy to jerk him back and forth between the 3 and 4 consistantly. Leave him in one place if we can, so he can get some consistency back in his offense.

I think Mo is having elevation problems because of the previous injury and his shot is off accordingly. Just a theory. Hopefully once he gets that ankle back to full strength, his jumper will come around.

Btw...I thought Eddie did fine when he got in there with Tmo at the end. I was happy to see KT get the hook. Duncan was shooting over KT, but seemed to lose his shot from that point on.

Eddie needs strength and post moves and footwork - but these are things he can acquire. As Yao becomes more of a presence, Eddie's job gets simpler, too, so perhaps he won't look so "lost".

KT can be valuable with a jumper and passing. Where is his jumper? I think he had one last year. We don't need the jab jab jab spin. KT on Duncan is not a good match for us, either. Ditto Webber, Wallace, Brand, etc. Those guys will just chew him up or shoot over all night. At least Eddie has the size to make the shot ugly. he may get pushed out of the way, but you don't shoot over him. Eddie, Tmo and Yao is a good, tall defense. Let KT use his footwork and so on against Shawn Marion, or other slashing 3s. I don't see the value in him trying to defend big 4s.

pasox2,you have made a good point about trying to see KT defend against SF's but the problem is that Griffin is not strong enough and can only offer shotblocking on defense against PF's although he fronted Duncan yesterday.Mo-T also has problems on defense and therefore KT has to go against them even though he is undersized.

Thanos, as someone who has seen all the games and the turnaround in players games, I am not inclined to move anybody at all. As an example many wanted to kick Moochie of the team two weeks ago and now look at his play. MoT has to be given time which we have the luxury of doing. It will take a lot more for me to lose faith in KT. I agree with HP that he is only back at 4 because both MoT and Eg have not yet delivered. The beauty, which we will see very soon, is that we have the factors of Ming and Francis that is going to mask those deficiencies. Our PF's will come into their own soon and they will deliver what we originally expected. Things change very quickly in this league and if you do not believe see how we play the Kings next week.

Having said all of that I have to call you out on your suggestion of packaging two of our forwards to get T.Hill. I could not believe you suggested such a thing.

    ouch.

LOL. I didn't mean that as it came out... of course, both of them would be insanity. I was supposed to say that we could trade both of them and get a veteran PF like Hill, and fill other needs too, like an SG that could start and allow us to move Cuttino to the bench as a sixth man. Both KT and Mo for Tyrone hil is insanity indeed.

    my bad.

    Thanks for the adjustment.

I am not sure why there is such an urgency to move anyone or bring in anyone. Stability is the key right now and the rest of the league is taking us seriously and we have only just began. This is not a team with any serious chemistry yet. I would not be looking to make anymore changes. We have everything we need and more than what most have. We are currently 3rd in the conference even with Mobes out, and trying to work in a new offense and new players. We are ahead of most people's schedule. This team would have to be struggling mightily for me to even consider yet another disruption. Let those 4-11 teams worry about making changes.

KT stays put... I don't know if there are any takers out there for a undersized 4. I truely believe that there are too many posts to trade KT, Mooch, MoT, etc. The truth is that the Rockets are playing well right now... and they will only improve with time and practice.

Its wasted energy on the parts of those who feel like we need to make a sudden trade to improve the status of our beloved team. The Rockets are coming around... and having Yao only helps us get deeper into the playoffs.

Quit wasting your energy and time on trade speculations that won't happen. We have 3 very capable 4's and until one steps up to take that starting role, we will have to sit and wait to see who wants it the most. EG is our future there, although he isn't ready to be starting just yet. So its up to MoT and KT to decide who wants to play defense, and who wants to become the "role" player we need.

I personally think that KT should start over MoT at this point in the season, not that it matters because they will get about the same amount of PT.

Tyrone Hill... why would we want him? He sucks. Really.

Brian Grant... why would we want to give him the max? Is he worth it?... hell no.

    Elton Brand... keep dreaming:rolleyes:

The Heat are a perfect match.

I like Cuttino a lot, but I would not hesitate to offer Mobley, Rice-who played most of his career in Miami, and KT for Eddie Jones.

Eddie can score, and play defense, all as a role player-is he expensive, yes, and do I necessarily think Les would do it: no.

Plus miami gets the scorer/leader they desperately needed in Cat. Plus cap room when rice leaves for their rebuilding.

Its too perfect to be true, isn't it?

Les prob doesnt want to reach the Luxury Tax, but I think if we want a better ballclub, this deal makes a lot of sense for both teams.

As far as BG goes: Mo, number 1, and a cap piece oughta get it done. The heat need offense badly, and Taylor will start to fill it up soon.

Don't think I want to trade either player, I just have been thinking and realized these are perfect matches, if we want them.
