Steph Curry has missed a number of practices for "personal reasons" over the years.... but from what I can tell he demands less perks than most other star players but he is largely the exception to the rule. We also will never know if he would demand a trade or not because he won titles already.
Is this about Harden being pampered? Yall are nuts if you don't think every team lets any player as good as Harden get away with whatever the hell they want.
Sure they value his input. Just as they value the opinion of others in the organization. When curry wanted to keep mark jackson and publicly supported him in 2014. The warriors still let him go and hired kerr. Curry understood and proceeded to welcome kerr as his new coach after kerr took it upon himself to visit curry after getting hired. When the teams offense changed to accommodate Durant, curry wasn't resistant and was in fact the catalyst. Curry wasn't angry Durant left and wished him well. Iggy, bazemore, holiday, Russel and many current and former teamates rave about how selfless and ego less curry is. Does curry get some star treatment from his team - assuredly Does he act like a diva and is acting above his team and teammates - doubtful
To anyone blaming the owner, I have bad news for you: the owner's not going away. So, you can keep being unhappy, or find a team with a different owner.
Nah, we see a superstar that acts like other superstars around the league but is being singled out by leaks to the media in an effort to make him look bad. James Harden is no saint and he gets to do things that 95% of the rest of the league don't get to do...... just like Westbrook, Leonard, George, Giannis, LBJ and other star players. After Harden is traded the Rockets will spend the next decade or more trying to get ANOTHER franchise player (who likely won't be in the class Harden is) and then that star player will get special treatment as well..... I find it funny that some are clamoring for Ben Simmons when he has a past of getting and expecting special treatment already. The truth is the very best get special treatment......
I don't know, he is one of the least financially stable owners in the NBA..... he has large loans at a high interest rate to pay off, he is leveraged in an industry that is changing quickly (hospitality) and no one is going to confusing him for being innovative.
it is what it is as a rockets fan. Back to mediocrity we go sans harden trade. I have no faith in this org whatsoever. Getting harden out of nowhere was a miracle, it won't happen again. Our reputation is sht, roster revamped for years, hell our best player this decade wasn't even one we drafted.
Yeah that's the way things are in the world. They are either 100% one thing or they are 100% another thing. Grey does not exist; only black and white.
The Rockets are leaking this "narrative" because Harden wants out, and they're doing damage control - and want to keep the fans from burning the house down. Seems like it's working... the narrative has shifted from terrible cheap owner who has run off the best front office in the game to putting it all on the player.
precisely this. it’s always been both of them. But Tilman doesn’t want people thinking that so he’s releasing a bunch of hit pieces on Harden in an attempt to save his character. not working broke b**** Tilly
