So is Tmo a rotation player or what? It looks like he is hurting our offense.

But of course it is the off-season. Towards the end of last year he was asked what he was going to do in the off season and he said that he wanted to be more aggressive inside. I guess we all knew he had to work on his jump shot but he did not mention that at that time. I tried to monitor his work during the summer but there was little or no info. In fact I even thought that we was back in Maryland working on his game. As it turned out he was at Westside for most of the summer.

During the summer I regularly looked at some of the games from last year and I got a chance to see what he actually was capable of. To be honest, I am not surprised about what he is doing now. Also during the summer I had to remind many on this board that while many said he could not shoot, his shooting % was better than EG's. When Clutch reported that he may have been the best player in camp at times, I thought he was in for a good season. I am glad to see that Rudy has continued to give him playing time. Many thought Nackbar would have been ahead of him in the rotation but I could not see it.

Tmo can start in the Brand line up. Even with Eggie, Tmo is a perfect garbage man, cleaning up trash and filling holes. I like him at 3 with Posey at 2 as a supporting cast for Ming/Francis.

    Yao
    Brand
    Tmo
    Posey
    Francis

Face up with that. Tmo and Posey would be open all day - they don't need skeelz. Mix in Cato, a bench shooter, etc - fierce.

As a cynic, I feel TMo is only playing well cuz its a contract year

Anyways, he's helping us win so keep the minutes coming in TMo's direction. Even more importantly, with his good play, our bench just got one person deeper. Mr. Terrence Morris is giving Mr. Kelvin Cato some competition for most improved on the Rockets.

It will be interesting to determine our future rotation. I have always liked T-Mo and hoped he would come around (although I have had less patience with EG; go figure).

What I mean is, we originally drafted T-Mo with a nod to Steve Francis (probably). We also have Boki, who is Yao's best friend on the team...Yao, our MVP-to-be, who we can't afford to lose (not that I think we will).

Given all that, I like Posey a hell of a lot and he's a keeper.

When I read the title of this topic...I was like WTF!!! Well yeah, he is a good shooter and makes his shots consistently. He has been doing pretty well recently. I would still like to keep Posey. And stop dreaming about Elton Brand!

Also, Terence Morris just accompanies Steve as a Terrapin.

TMo and Griffin are both similar. They are both very quiet and have very deep voices. They should be good friends...

Anyways. Terence Morris, keep up the good play!

This is exactly what we need! someone that can make the defense pay for doubling Francis, Cat or Yao Ming.

If those three are only guarded by one person then TMo will not get a shot off anyway because they will all be having career nights. When TMo's man leaves him to try and help shut down one of the big three then TMo can make them pay by draining 50% of his jumpers.

That's what has been occurring the last couple of games. And he has been scoring. Rudy rewarded him with more playing time. :) We really need him to replace Glen Rice. And I think he is better than Glen Rice at this stage.

I remember reading report in the summer (from Clutch's training camp reports?) that the coaches were working on TMo's shooting after each practice. Someone mentioned that the coaching staff must be seeing TMo as a key future player.

Wrong. That is what has been happining all season. He missed most of November with a sprained ankle. In December he hit 46% of his shots and in January he hit 57% of his shots. TMo has been consistent, he is no Johny Come Lately.

    lol sorry...

I just got mad when someone said...

"I'm still here. TMo is not a good shooter. He has never been a good shooter and will never be a good shooter. He is basically a taller version of Shandon Anderson. The problem you get with guys like TMo, Shandon, and Hawkins, is that when they are left open, more often than not they miss shots. It kills spacing when you have guys out there that don't contribute to the offense. TMo is shooting 17% from beyond the arc. We don't need that from our SF position, and we have enough PFs that he should never get playing time. I would rather they try to develop Boki than bring in this TMo, a guy we wasted a #1 pick on. You would think Rudy's first clue that he might not be worth a first round pick was that he wasn't picked in the first round. Sure there are some gems in the second round (Cat comes to mind), but they are few and far between."

    Must be sarcasm or something.

But he can shoot...consistenly and correctly too.

I think TMo is definitely a keeper. If he can keep it up, I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the regular rotation as our main backup 3 or even our starting 3 (Not enuf size to be a 4, but could see spot duty at the 4). Depending on whether or not we can keep Posey... and getting Brand?? err... don't think so, here's the rox possible projected lineup:

    Francis/Mooch
Mobley/Francis (or Hawkins if he's still around?)
Posey/TMo/Nachbar (Or TMo/Nachbar? if we can't keep Posey)
    Griffin/MoT
    Ming/Cato

IMO, TMo will be better than Nachbar.. I never really held much faith in Nachbar, but then again he's hardly got any pt at all and could surprise me. But I really hope we can keep Posey.

What other things does Taylor do? He can't defend, can't rebound, can't pass, and that was before his achilles injury. He's had a few good offensive games lately, along with several bad offensive games.
