So, is the general consensus that we will lose in the 2nd round? (if we get there)

I will be more than content only if we can taste the smack of the second round.

 

I would rather drop to 4th or 5th and expect the Lakers to chock and lose to Mavs in the first round, then we'll come into a series against mavs in the second. We'll have the home court advantage.

All of the other teams our players will shoot bad or get abused at PG.

And praying that Jason Kidd, Howard, and Nowitzki will bring their best game against the Lakers. Because they are capable.

 

either team would definitely bring us a tough contest. what I want, and most acquirable for our players, is just to play 5-6 games in the second round and head to the beaches for vacation. I hope our team will make the WCF or even the finals, or even win the championship for the best scenario... but what we can guarantee is just a win in the first round. Hopefully our team will make the WCF next season, making one step forward year by year then we'll rationally get the ring in 3 seasons.

 

The obvious answer is that we are all hoping for more, but desperately want to get past the first round. Getting booted in the first AGAIN is defined on the board as "epic fail." The season would then almost become meaningless.
