    thumbs down.
She should have more sense than to be out drinking with people who obviously couldn't give 2 ****s about her safety. That shows that she is an irresponsible person. Also, if you don't know how to drink, then don't. It's possible she had sex with the guy, or the guy took advantage of her and she isn't even going to remember. I don't know these people and even I'm pissed off. If he didn't trust her, he wouldn't have let her go out. She took advantage of the his trust. Made him out to look like an idiot, then made him stay up all night worrying. There's nothing this girl could do to make it up to me. It will take a lot of steak and bjs.

All of that goes out the window when another dude is involved. Night out with the girls and dropped of by another guy do not mesh.

I agree that there can be a million scenarios out there.

The botom line is that the OP probably trusted his wife to be in control of the situation. Once she was drunk and not in control, who does he have to trust? The friend that allowed her to get that drunk? A complete guy stranger? Or is he supposed to just say that in this perfect world, nothing bad ever happens?

I guess I misinterpreted the part where you said that "today and tomorrow should be filled with a total lack of stress". I know if I were in that situation, a total lack of stress would be the last thing going on.

Drinking makes people stupid and it makes them make bad decisions, almost as often as not, whether infidelity is involved or not.

I think the OP made a mistake getting rough on the guy giving his wife a ride home and that that might have contributed to her getting dropped off somewhere other than her front door.

If OP didn't trust his wife or the guy giving the ride, he had the option of saying please leave her at the bar and I'll be right over to pick her up. He also had the option of telling her to stay put, calling a cab for her, and paying for it when she arrived safely home.

Instead he was nasty to the driver and stood in his doorway waiting with knives in his hands. There is no way this was going to make the situation better.

As for getting pissed because his wife couldn't handle her liquor, well Jesus. That's what liquor does. It makes you drunk. Sometimes too drunk. Maybe it was a rare occasion and it snuck up on her or maybe she has a drinking problem (as with most of the paranoid leaps that have taken place in this thread, by both OP and even more by all the "advice" givers, we don't have enough information to know any of this).

But it is entirely possible that his wife had an innocent night that got out of control and that she did nothing wrong but to get too drunk (it happens). After that, for whatever reason, the situation escalated and the result was a pretty traumatic evening for both husband and wife.

If there is a foundation of trust (and I hope there would be in any marriage, certainly there would in any relatively healthy one), the best thing they can do today is be kind to each other, not go ballistic over it.

And to the ones that immediately leap to thinking the worst, I feel sorry for your own current or future wives. They are in for a bad marriage.

Glad to hear everything is okay. This just helps to confirm my theory that married people shouldn't have friends. I know that sounds terrible but it's true. They just drag you into bad situations like wanting to go to bars, borrow money, look for a place to crash, their boyfriends/girlfriends will call you looking for them and leave texts and voicemails leading to arguements about why you have some guy/girl calling you.

No, but he might consider saying that even in this imperfect world something bad doesn't ALWAYS happen.

"bloody palms, a gashed up elbow and pretty bad looking cut on her chin."

This seems consistant with politely opening a door and escorting her to the curb . . .to you?

I think it's crazy for anyone to drink with their friends to that point. Does she know this guy from work or anything? I might have missed it from the OP, but I would never seem to trust work friends as "real" friends.

This is what we all wish for.

I understand what you are saying Batman. I'm not saying she cheated, but I do understand why the OP was so upset.

We've had so called "friends" that have tried to put both of us in that situation. Needless to say, they are no longer friends.

My feeling is that she should have never been in that situation to begin with.

Would you politely escort someone to a curb after being threatened by her husband?

The injuries sound consistent with getting too drunk and falling on your face. I speak from experience in this case and have sustained similar injuries myself.

Of course not. But alcohol is a kind of poison and once you start drinking it, you don't always act responsibly. That's one reason I don't drink it anymore.

True, but most people do know what they can and can't handle....

Even if it got out of hand, not sure why the OP didn't just call a cab to go and get her.

If this guy had nothing to hide, the least he could have done was drop her at the curb, stay in car, doors locked, and watch her ring the doorbell. The fact that he just dropped her off to fend for herself tells me he needs a serious ass kicking!

Yeah man, onece the kids see the body they'll call the cops. You're betting off putting an IED in his car and blowing it up when he drives to work.
