To all you posters who think she was cheating, shame on you. Marriages are based on trust. That can be hard to maintain; it's a jerk move to try to chip away at it based on such dubious info.

It's very easy to imagine someone getting drunk and getting lost, without any nefarious reason. Alcohol can make people stupid and confused. This story sounds to me like an innocent case of someone having a few too many, a little too much fun and then having things turn bad for her. I wouldn't suspect cheating at all, based on what OP has told us.

Again, very glad she's home safe. Wallet and keys can be replaced. Your wife can't.

God, you people are paranoid. Who's to say he wasn't doing her a favor by giving her a ride home and that he just got annoyed that, in the course of doing that favor, he got threatened by the OP?

Unless there's a history of cheating, there is no reason to believe any of this was anything but the wife having one too many, the guy doing a favor and the OP overreacting.

C'mon Batman. Why would he NOT drop her off first, knowing that she lived just down the road. She sounded like she was plastered. I'm not saying she was cheating, but she may have been so blasted that she might not have realized who she was with. This guy may have been trying to take advantage of the situation.

 

As bad as the situation is...your wife should learn how to control her liquor.

Maybe he didn't drop her off first because his house was closer to hers and he didn't want to drive nearby then far away then back where he started. I don't honestly know. I just think it's kind of crappy that everyone's trying to get the OP worked up to mistrust his wife and exacerbate a bad situation.

Sure, the guy might have had bad motives and it's possible the wife did too, but there's no evidence of that anywhere in this thread. It's equally likely the guy was just doing a favor and the wife was having an innocent (if too drunk) time with girlfriends.

If you can't give your wife the benefit of the doubt, there's no trust there. In that case, maybe breaking up is the right thing to do -- but not necessarily because of anything that happened last night.
