Break it down to your basic principles. Her actions cause problems.

    Like you said.

I'm trying to follow along. Cliff's Note version?

    - Wife goes out to bar with 2 college friends. 1 FEMALE AND 1 Unlikeable MALE
    - Wife and Female in Wife's car. Unlikeable MALE in his own car (responsible thing by all people)
    - Wife gets too drunk to drive her own car. Unlikeable Male becomes designated driver for everybody.
    - Phone call to Husband explaining the situation. Husband does NOT LIKE the terms of the situation.
    - Husband goes ballistic trying to reign in the situation. Husbands wants wife home FIRST. (turning point)
    - Unlikeable Male doesnt want to comply. So in pure SPITE and maybe weakminded fear, Unlikeable Male just dumps the wife out of his car off in a random unknown area. With Wife still too inebriated to physically function.

    What a situation. I'm thinking

    - Was the other girl still in the car as it happened? Couldnt she have tried to moderate the situation better? Maybe they were already too far from the house. Or the male was just that much an ******* to give a s**t.
    - Did the husband have his own car to pick her up from wherever?
    - Couldnt the drunk wife have stayed at the girlfriend's place? But these arent nice people she's with....
    - The husband didnt have to be that militant and threaten the other guy. But when your loved one is in the hands of strangers, what can you really do? Its either all trust or no trust.
    - I think there's a big time distrust in the MALE FIGURE in the picture. And for good reason. But not the main reason people think, which is him being a possible a predator who'd have his way with her sexually if left alone.

Regardless of how it all started or what happened to exacerbate it in between, the final conclusion is this guy needs a THOROUGH ASS BEATING. He could have dropped her off a block from the house. And the other girl isn't that okay either.

I don't know. Something in her story doesn't add up, sorry to say, especially the part about not picking up the phone. She was obviously not too drunk to eventually find the way home, so I would think she should have been able to pick up the phone. She'll have some explaining to do...

    Curious to hear an update.

Maybe she has scrapes on her hands and knees because she was giving the dude a BJ on the street.

    Just something to think about.

Where you got me wrong is Premise 2. Its perfectly fine to go out drinking when you have kids. The key here is moderation. What caused her to lose control of her situation was her state of inebriation. Personal responsibility includes knowing when you've had enough to drink. Unless she was drugged unknowingly, there is no excuse, IMO.

I think everyone made mistakes in this situation.

The wife should have known better than to get totally wasted when she has a husband and two children at home.

The friend should have been... a friend, and made sure that the wife, the woman with a husband and two kids would be able to get home safely.

The man should have definitely dropped the wife off first... she lived nearer, and it would've saved everyone from the subsequent **** storm.

And OP, you should have controlled your emotions better and not flipped out at the guy that you're essentially relying on to bring your wife home safely.

However, there is no doubt that the former 3 are at fault for their actions far more than the OP is.

And FYI, for those of you who think there is a double standard and that if a man did this we wouldn't be criticizing him... I can honestly say that I would not be applauding him at all, along with any other reasonable person; if anything, I'd be more critical of the hypothetical guy than I am of this woman.

The whole thing is weird...if my wife (who I actually care about) comes home with cuts and bruises after being missing from a bar for quite a few hours my first reaction is "what happened? Where did these injuries come from?" Yet the OP strangely didn't ask her.

I'm calling BS on this story, unless the OP knows she banged the big athletic dude (or worse, maybe she was raped? ugh) and doesn't want to tell us anymore, in that case he probably won't post on this site again...

You should have never let your wife go "drinking" with Ben Roethlisberger. The dude is a creep.

Unless she was too inebriated to explain anything and he figured it was best to deal with it after she'd slept some of it off.

What I'd like to know is if the wife has a history of getting too drunk when she drinks. The guy could have put something in her drink.

I would buy that if she just came from the bar...it had been over 5 hours, it was almost morning.

So... 11 extra pages of pure speculation and over analysis.

Are we ever gonna get the rest of the story from the OP?

Fair enough, but she could still have been too inebriated, too hungover, too tired, or too whatever, or perhaps he was too tired himself, too angry, whatever, I don't know. Whichever way, there are many reasons why he might feel the need to wait to discuss it further.
