How is no one giving the Spurs respect? My order of preference, from worst matchup to best: Spurs, Thunder, Warriors, Clippers, Blazers
The Spurs would be a good matchup because if we don't face them in the first round, we would face them in the WCF (assuming we make it there). I'd rather face them in the first round when we might be able to surprise them.
We are pretty good at containing the warriors, we can't contain the clippers. OKC is the worst matchup, mainly because we have no answer for Durant. He will always get his and keep the game close no matter what.
A healthy OKC is the only team I want no part of in the Playoffs. Otherwise, we match up very well with SA or Portland. The Clips fleeced us early this year, but the different between our Howard/Asik front court and the Howard/Jones front court we now use has been well documented.
Spurs a bad match-up? We beat them twice this season, in their home court. Two remaining games against them will be at Toyota Center. I predict we win at least 1 out of 2. I understand it's different come playoffs, but still... OKC and Clips are the worst match-up, IMHO.
OKC and the Clippers own us they way we own NY and Boston at their home. To have a chance to beat them in a 7-game series, the dynamics which so far have favored those two teams has to change. Hopefully, Morey could get one or a couple of difference makers to get us over the hump with OKC and the Clips.
Talent wise, we could beat any team out there in the West. So whoever we may meet, we could beat. My only concern is coaching. The play offs are a chess match between coaches both in-game and in between games. And McHale sure is not one of the best in in-game adjustments, nor is he a known x and o's guy.
I know we should win but I would hate to play the mavs. If dirk went all dirk on us it could be all over
Just a jump shooting team wit ha horrible coach? Isn't that the same thing that a lot of people say about us? I know we have a good record against them. All I am saying is I don't think we can overlook them. They matchup well against us. Iguodala is a great defender to put on Harden, and Bogut is a pretty good defender to put on Howard. They have good shooters and we have bad perimeter defense. I think that if we face them in the playoffs, we should win. I just don't think we can overlook them if they are healthy.
