My girlfirend and dog have already evacuated and staying at a friends...I had to leave this morning for business, and I'm all the way here in Boston worried sick about home Sorry to intrude on your thread, SM. Good luck with you.
so i woke up sneezing and my eyes are all itchy and it smells like smoke...I'm in West LA, far from all the fires but at this point the smell of smoke has blanketed the entire erea... my friend and her newborn are on the other side of the Malibu Canyon in Ventura County, and they have nowhere to go because her parents are down in Irvine...
Well the sky over pretty much all of the Valley is orange-ish/grey. It looks like the sky in Oblivion. It also smells like smoke really bad. All the schools have to keep the children inside all day because of the air quality. I wonder how long this will last. It had been really dry all year, and I was surprised that there weren't worse fires this summer. I guess I was premature in my thoughts of good fortune.
That sucks. I can imagine being worried. I hope that everything is ok. The firefighters seem to be doing a great job protecting as much property and homes as possible. I hope all goes well for you.
I remember one year when the Mexican AG fires were really bad and the smoke settled over Austin. The smell was horrible and it burned your nose and throat -- I can't imagine how bad it is in Cali right now with the fire right there raging out of control.
i remember that as well. there was literally a fine ash all throughout the texas skies. drove my alleriges NUTS.. and i was livin in freakin beaumont at the time
The wifey and I are heading to Anaheim on Sunday because I have training out there. I called the dude today and he said that we should be cool. I'm hoping he isn't bull****ting me just so he doesn't get the class yanked.
